Sure just take a QB at 16 and ignore that d-line.. awesome job.

I would not have an issue with taking our future at QB. It would be the first time since he owned the team that he actually valued the position correctly.

And no, I do not count Aikman, who be basically tripped over.

Going all out for the DL is a win now thought. He needs to start thinking outside of his normal year to year routine.

He is a wildcatter ... i could see JJ going all the way up to #2 if he thinks he will hit oil (franchise QB).

Because..

It would MEAN Jerrah..

.. drum roll please..

..BING BANG BOOM

..is giving up on Romo.

That would be news..

..since the rest of the league..

..has gotten very comfortable with Romo and us losing.

What's wrong with you guys?

Well, for those who think this, then they should consider that Garrett would not only be a lame duck but he would also be a sitting duck. There is no way he can win without a solid draft.

Of course, this could always be posturing in case Manziel falls to entice a team to swap with someone like, say, Chicago, who has similar draft needs to Dallas (DL).

If Manziel were to to 16 on no news, I have to think there would be a tremendous trade down to be had.

Jenkins only wanted out after we drafted Claiborne. He was excited about the Carr signing.

jerry and lacewell have their drinking buddy in manziel.

manziel and jones are cut from the same cloth. anybody who has heard manziel speak can see why jerry is attracted to him. he has a cockiness and swagger that jerry loves and is lacking romo.

It's Lacewell & Jerry, at this time of the year, I don't believe either one of them. Actually that is almost year round at times.
I always thought Lacewell was the problem more than anything else.

If "peace of mind" means talking incessantly to "make me feel more important and feed my insatiable ego fueled by deep down insecurity", I agree.

It's a literal vortex.....that ego.

Jerry Jones plays these pre-Draft misdirection games every freaking year. It's really necessary.

I don't quite recall it like that the past several years. IIRC, Jerry has been pretty forthcoming with information about the draft. Don't remember exactly, but the Cowboys seem to pick players they invite for interviews also. I don't think the Cowboys are into any draft out-psyching or reverse psychology tactics. Pretty much straight forward from what I remember recently.

Recently, Jerry said not to rule out OL in the 1st rd for the Cowboys and Stephen said some DL could be aquired in later rounds. I think they are both telling the truth and I agree with what they said.

Heck, I don't think Jerry even cares if his draft board is leaked after the draft. And I like seeing the draft board after all is said and done. I wish all teams would do that. Makes for great conversations and is a good tool to compare teams/GMs/draft decisions.

I agree with you about the draft boards. Teams should submit them to the league front office for archiving and future prosperity.

Franchises are praised or criticized for how they are drafted anyway. Why shouldn't the league capitalize on that type of fan discourse? NFL Network could integrate past team draft strategies into their current Path to the Draft coverages, etc. Discussions could center upon drafting patterns that are consistent, chaotic, etc. They could pose questions to former draftees and ask how they felt about being slotted on this team's board and that team's board. The scenarios are as numerous as the imagination. I'm not sure how it would not be a win/win programming addition for the NFL.

Well jerry is strapped by the salary cap. And he needs to do something big to get everyone interested again. He didnt fire Red ... so i think he is going to go get manziel and ensure he has ALL the media coverage for the next couple of years. Esp if he thinks Romo is going to have a hard time coming back.
