The fact that we don't have a 60-65% catch receiver opposite of Miles Austin, simply kills us.

7 qbs with better passer ratings than romo

1. Drew Brees (Robert Meachem 73.8%)
2. Brett Favre (Sidney Rice 70%, Percy Harvin 69.8)
3. Phillip Rivers (Very split up, but they have 3 receivers above 60%)
4. Aaron Rodgers (Driver and Jennings are both above 63%)
5. Ben Roethlisberger (Hines Ward 73.6%)
6. Peyton Manning (Austin Collie 70.6%, Reggie Wayne 68.5%)
7. Matt Schaub (Kevin Walter 77.9)

Tony Romo?

Miles Austin 67.5%

then...

Patrick Crayton 57.8%

Roy E. Williams 45.8%

Thats just sad and pathetic...

And even with that Romo still ranks 12th overall in pass completions. And we don't pass to the running back nearly as much as many teams do.

Austin is your #1 WR and Crayton is your #3. We defenitely need another #2. Here's to hoping that Michael irvin continues his 4th and Long show, only this time it only includes one contestant named Kevin Ogletree. This kid may have "it" but he is raw. So we need Irvin to stomp on this grape and turn him into sweet wine real fast, because with Roy E Williams, all we've got is sour vinnegar.

Romo is still at a disadvantage. Everyone of those QB's also have a very good receiving TE like Witten

1. Drew Brees (Robert Meachem 73.8%) Shockey
2. Brett Favre (Sidney Rice 70%, Percy Harvin 69.8) Shiancoe
3. Phillip Rivers (Very split up, but they have 3 receivers above 60%) Gates
4. Aaron Rodgers (Driver and Jennings are both above 63%) Finley
5. Ben Roethlisberger (Hines Ward 73.6%) Heath Miller
6. Peyton Manning (Austin Collie 70.6%, Reggie Wayne 68.5%) Dallas Clark
7. Matt Schaub (Kevin Walter 77.9) Owen Daniels pre-injury

Jason Witten.

Who doesn't like Witten? BUT!!!...When your #1/Go-to WR is a TE most of the time then that's a problem. The base 2-TE offense in many ways is a gimmicky offense that Dallas needs to run, in large part unfortunately, to mask their deficiencies at #1 WR (where RW11 currnetly plsys).

Best 2nd post I have ever seen on this board and he's 2 years in. Man do you make them count.

That's 3 seriously solid players at 9 million a year we are all looking at. Ask Keith Brooking, Miles Austin, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice for that matter. Ooops, that's 4 and that's still a couple million shy.

I think that we do need one more weapon with respect to the WRs.

That said, my preference is to get a guy who can stretch the field. Right now, we only have Austin at the WR position.

Witten, Crayton, Hurd, R Williams are more possession receiver types.

I'm probably in the minority whereby I think that R Williams will improve next season. Not that I think he will necessarily be a number 1, but he will become more reliable.

That's why I prefer to get another wideout who can stretch the field.

Dude...

14th in the nfl on 3rd down conversions...

4th in the nfl in passing yards per attempt...

The problem isn't stretching the field as much as it is being consistent, and scoring in the redzone was a problem all year.

I'm with you on this. I haven't given up on TRRW yet.

Romo can't hit guys who don't get decent separation. So the idea that he's suffering because he doesn't have a possession guy doesn't hold water. A good possession guy would look just like Roy does right now.

people can sure get all bent out of shape when your team doesn't have the prototypical pieces in place OR if another team makes a bold move that works, we must do it and do it now.

when the real world facts are not on your side, you make stuff up and find one example to typify every throw.

highly irritating.

Does RW need to play a hell of a lot better? Yes, absolutely. we get it.
all these guys whining daily about Roy Williams and how he's a worthless POS would be begging for his autograph is they actually met him.

all the time, really? seems that Witten is wide freaking open on just about every pass he catches. It's almost comical.

It's been a year and a half and people still defend RW by using Romo as a scapegoat...comical.
