Does RW need to play a hell of a lot better? Yes, absolutely. we get it.
all these guys whining daily about Roy Williams and how he's a worthless POS would be begging for his autograph is they actually met him.

for a moment you had a glimmer of sense showing...

4th in the nfl in passing yards per attempt...

The problem isn't stretching the field as much as it is being consistent, and scoring in the redzone was a problem all year.

Again, I think R Williams will improve. That alone will help the 3rd down conversions. And frankly said, the rest of the WRs are basically possession receivers anyway (excluding Austin).

I'd also point out that the Cowboys seemed to have some interest in Ford of Clemson at the Senior Bowl.

I think we will draft a wideout this year, and I think the wideout will add another speed element (along with good hands, hopefully!).

Witten is a great possession guy for us though, obviously, the ideal situation would have Roy Williams providing the perfect possession receiver compliment to Miles Austin.

I'm hopeful, though that hope continues to fade more and more, that Roy Williams will get on the same page as Tony and will become that possession guy at the WR possession.

We could do a whole heck of lot worse, however, then to have someone as great as Witten holding that down for us.

That's 3 seriously solid players at 9 million a year we are all looking at. Ask Keith Brooking, Miles Austin, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice for that matter. Ooops, that's 4 and that's still a couple million shy.

We're talking about the WR roster and whether it is living up to Romo's needs from the WRs, not whether it is living up to its collective contract value. That's a business issue, not a roster issue. And in the current landscape, given that we are entering an uncapped year and have an owner with deep pockets, I hardly see how the contract value is relevant.

Romo is still at a disadvantage. Everyone of those QB's also have a very good receiving TE like Witten

1. Drew Brees (Robert Meachem 73.8%) Shockey
2. Brett Favre (Sidney Rice 70%, Percy Harvin 69.8) Shiancoe
3. Phillip Rivers (Very split up, but they have 3 receivers above 60%) Gates
4. Aaron Rodgers (Driver and Jennings are both above 63%) Finley
5. Ben Roethlisberger (Hines Ward 73.6%) Heath Miller
6. Peyton Manning (Austin Collie 70.6%, Reggie Wayne 68.5%) Dallas Clark
7. Matt Schaub (Kevin Walter 77.9) Owen Daniels pre-injury

The only guys on that list who can hold Witten's jock are Gates and Clark. And Gates seems to have dropped off significantly in the past couple of years. Shockey, Finley and Miller?? Don't make me laugh.

I think UxSxC's point was that all the TEs he listed are legitimate receiving options for their QBs. Yes, some are better than others but all are threats.

While witten is a legitiate threat for Romo, the point is that Romo needs a capable possesion WR in addition to Witten, as to not rely on Witten alone.

I think that's a legitimate poiint becasuse I, for one, strongly believe that if Romo gets that other posession WR to complement Witten, then this offense's passing threat will grow exponentially, particularly in the red zone where this offense struggles to score.

I understand the concern for needing another receiver, but if Martellus Bennett improves (matures), then maybe he becomes the weapon this organization thought he would be when he was selected.

Romo can't hit guys who don't get decent separation. So the idea that he's suffering because he doesn't have a possession guy doesn't hold water. A good possession guy would look just like Roy does right now.

heard that, we definitely have some areas to improve in, but in a year that we were supposed to be "rebuilding" in, we definitely took positive steps forward and will continue to do so. The team Assesses the areas we need to improve and im sure we will be aggressive in making it happen, the time is now.

We took drastic steps last year to improve our defense....

We let go of Roy Williams, Greg Ellis, Anthony, Henry, Tank Johnson, Adam Jones, Chris Canty (FA), Kevin Burnett, and Zach Thomas....

3/5ths of our secondary (with the nickel)

2 starting linebackers (including the nickel formation)

2 important pieces to our defensive line.

Yet people are afraid of doing what it takes on offense?

Do you realize we've had pretty much the same offense for the last 3 years?

I'm not saying I dont have hope in Roy Williams. I'm just saying he was never really a possesion guy. He supposedly has great hands, but his technique is seems poor. And he simply isn't where he needs to be.

Better play from the #2 WR spot would definitely help Dallas. Does it need to be a possession guy? I don't really think it matters but it damn sure needs to be someone that can get the job done and someone that Romo isn't afraid to look to.

There is no disadvantage with Romo. He has a all time TE, a young star in the making in Austin and a solid ROy Williams and Crayton.

What else does Romo need you ask?

A coordinator that adjusts to defenses and a better OLine.

Those false start and illegal motions on 3rd and short don't help either. 3d and long isn't advantageous to any team. You made good points here!

That is the most important thing.

Hopefully this offseason Roy and Romo will get this fixed .....

But in saying that ...... 7 TD's is nothing to sneeze at.
