The fail is strong with this one.

Maybe not the best example, since Romo actually saved our season with this duck, but yeah. Did Romo not make horrible throws like this on a routine basis this year? Nobody who saw the games can tell me he didn't.

I really think Ogletree could be the #2 if they started with him at this position all through Training Camp. Tell me how much of a difference there is with the Wide Receivers in this Draft with Ogletree who's already played in the NFL.

Fixed that for you.

Thanks. He does a better job than most at hiding it by throwing a few rah rah posts into the mix but, yeah. Still just a troll.

Without a doubt that was Romo's worst game of the year, maybe he did it on purpose so Austin could start...:D

people can sure get all bent out of shape when your team doesn't have the prototypical pieces in place OR if another team makes a bold move that works, we must do it and do it now.

He hits Witten all the time with people draped all over him.

Stop making crap up.

hey! look below

The fact that we don't have a 60-65% catch receiver opposite of Miles Austin, simply kills us.

7 qbs with better passer ratings than romo

1. Drew Brees (Robert Meachem 73.8%)
2. Brett Favre (Sidney Rice 70%, Percy Harvin 69.8)
3. Phillip Rivers (Very split up, but they have 3 receivers above 60%)
4. Aaron Rodgers (Driver and Jennings are both above 63%)
5. Ben Roethlisberger (Hines Ward 73.6%)
6. Peyton Manning (Austin Collie 70.6%, Reggie Wayne 68.5%)
7. Matt Schaub (Kevin Walter 77.9)

Tony Romo?

Miles Austin 67.5%

then...

Patrick Crayton 57.8%

Roy E. Williams 45.8%

Thats just sad and pathetic...

And even with that Romo still ranks 12th overall in pass completions. And we don't pass to the running back nearly as much as many teams do.

Romo is still at a disadvantage. Everyone of those QB's also have a very good receiving TE like Witten

1. Drew Brees (Robert Meachem 73.8%) Shockey
2. Brett Favre (Sidney Rice 70%, Percy Harvin 69.8) Shiancoe
3. Phillip Rivers (Very split up, but they have 3 receivers above 60%) Gates
4. Aaron Rodgers (Driver and Jennings are both above 63%) Finley
5. Ben Roethlisberger (Hines Ward 73.6%) Heath Miller
6. Peyton Manning (Austin Collie 70.6%, Reggie Wayne 68.5%) Dallas Clark
7. Matt Schaub (Kevin Walter 77.9) Owen Daniels pre-injury

Ummm…why are some posters in this thread so objective of the notion that a capable possession WR on the outside (in addition to Witten on the inside), who can do what Roy Williams has not done, would be good for Romo and the offense?

While this offense moved the ball well overall - better than many other offenses - it struggled closer to the end zone as the field shrunk, much worse than many of the higher echelon offenses.

A capable possesion WR could help mightily in those situations in improving scoring TDs, so I don't understand why people object, taking the notion of acquiring another capable possession WR as a knock on Witten. This acquisition would complement Witten not undermine him, and help socre more TDs.

Why is that so hard to comprehend?

it's not, but knocking the Cowboys is unacceptable

even if it's a reasonable knock

I kind of agree we are ok with the weapons, although Crayton and Roy are JAG's. I would like to see a quicker guy in the slot a la Wesley Walker though to be a true threat underneath.

That said, fix the Oline and let Romo spend less time running around the pocket and those completion % numbers will go up. I really think his ability to move around has masked a mediocre pass blocking line that has trouble identifying blitzes.

Garrett will be fine, I think he's improved year over year here (and I was not a fan of his last year or even early this season).

it also masked every receiver except for Austin having a hard time creating separation

esp the aforementioned Roy Wiliams

Champ Bailey grabbed Roy on his route which screwed up the timing. It would have probably been a td(like TB game) had that not happened.
