I will take Collins,he was a team captain ( although that might not mean much at LSU).

Not sure if it's the times, but I can't recall seeing this much weird stuff pop up about prospects from the combine on out. Randy Gregory, Shane Ray, now La'el Collins. Very strange. It will be very interesting to see how this shakes up the first round tomorrow.

I agree. There's usually one, maybe two at most.

Collins will kill two birds with one stone,he can fill in at guard if needed but he will play RT here, our run game will be insane if we draft him.

It is the night before the draft and Collins has yet to speak to the police. He ain't getting drafted.

It would put a smile on my face to see Collins, Ray, and Gregory all go undrafted along with that CB who tried to strangle his coach twice. Just a hunch but I think the league is going to send a pretty loud and clear message with this draft.

Judge much?
Damn son, you know nothing at all about Collins, yet you'd be happy if his life's dreams got blown up even if it turns out he did nothing to deserve it.
Sounds like you need to re-think that.

I don't see Collins getting drafted at all. He had plenty of time to talk to the cops. He chose not to talk according to the above article. That is a huge red flag and no team is going to gamble with a high draft pick and a potential public relations nightmare. A team just can't take that risk. I don't know him at all but hope the Cowboys have him off their board completely.

I would be cautious too.

That's an entire different thing than lumping a guy who has a clean record and is not accused of anything in with everyone else.
The comment was that the you wanted Collins to be punished....without knowing if the guy even did anything. That's mean

That's not same as a GM taking precaution.
This guy is a relative model citizen.

I would use a 7th rounder on him. If in the future he did it obviously you cut him and mention in a statement that at the time he was not considered a suspect.

so they saved the baby.I assume they do a paternity test.People question my aversion to LSU players but this is not looking good and he was a team captain and considered one of the safest picks in the draft.

There is a slight possibility that Dallas could have Gregory, Ray and Collins available at 27 and a very tough decision to make.

I cannot say that is exactly a great thing. A lot of risk.

If those three are still on the board, then its a certainty that Gurley and Gordon are long gone.

FWIW, his attorney says Collins has an airtight alibi. But I agree with most of the posts, hard to draft a guy in this situation.

If the police don't think he is a suspect, I really don't get what all the hub bub is about.

Kid probably has been trying to worry about the draft stuff instead of answering some questions in a case the police say he is not a suspect in.

HOWEVER...it appears that he is going to go and talk with them now...probably so all the people will chill the heck out over something so silly.

Now...watch he will wind up being the guy who did it and I will look like the foolish one but at this time I just don't get all of the drama about some guy that the police say is not a suspect.

La'el Collins leaving draft to meet with La. authorities

LSU offensive lineman La'el Collins is leaving Chicago and the NFL draft on Wednesday to meet with authorities for an investigation in Louisiana, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, according to a source. Collins was at an NFL event Wednesday morning, but declined to answer questions from reporters.

I doubt he is a suspect, but I wouldn't expect authorities would say he is a suspect prior to talking to him. Pro football talk mentioned last night that authorities had not heard from Collins from last night. I would expect he and his representatives would want to clear his name prior to the draft. I don't know how a team could take him with the unanswered questions. I can't imagine the circus if you draft him and then some doubt arises. It could get really messy, even if he is totally innocent. It just doesn't seem like half a day is enough for law agencies to clear his name prior to tonight.

I'm just hypothesizing, but I wonder if his reluctance to meet with the police was the result of his agent telling him not to do so. If he is not considered a suspect, Collins' team may have thought that they could delay the process until after the draft so not to raise concerns. But with the nfl being informed Tuesday night and the story breaking yesterday, he's had no choice but to cooperate sooner than he and his team intended initially.

I'm not commenting anything about his involvement or non involvement, just trying to guess what may have been going on in the head of a kid who must be freaking out right now.

PFT is saying Collins representative is saying Collins will meet with investigators sometime after the draft. Seems odd. Can any team touch him if there is no clarity regarding this situation. Why not meet with them asap if he has nothing to hide?

*edit..actuatlly baton rouge police they will meet with Collins sometime after the draft.

The whole thing is just so strange.

I feel sorry for him if he really has nothing to do with it.

I just do not understand why they are not saying a lot and doing what they can to get information out that he is indeed innocent.

Yeah, he and his agent should be fully aware that this is destroying his draft stock right now. Until this is cleared up, it's a big risk for any team.

I hope that the Les Miles connections might allow the Cowboys to have an advantage in this case.

If he truly plummets, I would take a chance on him if his character checks out otherwise. You may get a 1st round talent at a huge bargain. And if he were somehow involved in this heinous act, you cut him.
