Roger Goodell just increased Greg Hardy's suspension to 16 games because Hardy could spell "La'el" correctly.

If he drops to 27 I laugh out loud and run to the podium. Even before Gregory/Ray.

I wouldn't.

Say he is the Louisiana version of Aaron Hernandez, you just wasted a first round choice.

The deeper he falls, the more I consider him though. If he is around on day three, that would be worth the gamble.

Hernandez was a day three pick. At the end of the day, if you would not take him in the 1st because you feel he may be on the wrong path and could be involved with murder, than you don't take him on day two or day three...stay far away.

Agree,I hope the cowboys are working the phones on him though because he seemed like a good guy before this incident.

Glazer is saying agent is trying to pull Collins from the draft and get him in the supplemental draft.

I think this is best for all parties. I am not sure of the past protocol though. It is not fair to Collins if he is innocent to see him slide down the draft boards. Likewise, the last thing the NFL needs/wants is for a team to gamble on him only to find out his story does not match up. It appears teams are asking for a full report and that will not be done by the draft this weekend.

Interested to see if he could pull it off. One thing in his favor is that he did declare with college eligibility remaining, so they may make an exception for him. Only thing is the precedent it establishes, especially if a declared underclassman does not like where his draft stock is headed, he yanks himself out of the regular draft and then enters the supplemental in hopes of getting a better positioning once teams have exhausted the regular process.

Yeah this is crushing his value. I think if he's there you have to start thinking about him in the 3rd.

If he has nothing to do with this I feel absolutely terrible for the guy. Especially if he was still on good terms with the victim and he's got the emotions of that to deal with too.

This guy is really in a jam.

They're now saying he has tried today to meet with the investigators but they "won't be ready until Monday". His meeting is set for then.

This guy has a really clean record--especially for an LSU player..--but you can't blame GMs for backing off.
You really just never know.

Also, what if the girl really was a friend of his and not just someone who he maybe hooked up with.
You don't even hear a single person mention that the guy just had a friend (maybe even someone he loved, who knows) die. And some parents just lost their daughter.

The other extreme is that there was a hit to avoid 18 years of massive support payments. That'd be creepy as hell.

I disagree on that.

At some point the probability of a mid/late round pick failing is higher than the probability that he is guilty. If he is innocent, then he is completely innocent; whereas, aguy like Hernandez was known to have some general character issues.

It seems like all or nothing with Collins. If he didn't do it there are no other character issues with him as far as I know.

It seems like if a player was really going to put out a hit on someone, it would be much easier after he is drafted and getting paid.

Its a risk. The question is where does the talent out weigh the risk. Because you either get a 1st round talent or you get a lost draft pick. It sounds like the 1st round talent is more likely, but then again are the police going to say come down here and talk to us right now we think you're guilty of this murder.

I feel bad for all of the guys that work as investigator for NFL teams. They're probably scrambling to figure out what is going on with this situation.

Without know the details, it's a 50-50 chance that he did it. Team investigators can probably improve those odds. The probability of getting a quality starter in the 5th round is probably way lower than 50-50. I'm would guess it's more like 10%.
