Lamb has much to prove this year.
He was used well in the slot. Especially when they got Coop going early. Being the #1 is not easy. And who will play the slot. The positive of this is they have this season to assess him as the sole WR1 and see if he’s the guy. Then they can figure out what to pay him.
The real effect of Cooper’s absence will not be in his lack of targets but in the other WR’s.He was used well in the slot. Especially when they got Coop going early. Being the #1 is not easy. And who will play the slot.
Tell me not Noah brown.
YesIs there a nfl rule that he can't be extended now?
Not saying they should btw.
And draft a WR every yearTrade him in 2024 and go with Gallup and Tolbert as the starters.
Dak and Gallup both proved they were worth extending and Gallup was fairly reasonableBest thing for Lamb's future in Dallas is to go down with an injury early in the season before we have time to see what he does this year. Jerry will pay him. Worked for Dak, worked for Gallup.

Dak proved it over and over and without a complaint, bet on himself and played under the tag
The best thing for Lamb is to prove he is a one because that’s what’s gonna get him a huge deal
Lol. You took the words right out of my mouth. Some of our fanbase needs to chill. They look too far ahead at times.Lamb has much to prove this year.
So honestly, do you think any other organization pays Dak what he got paid if he doesn't get hurt two years ago and turns in a 2022-type season (he was actually on pace to have a much worse season that year)? Would any other organization dump Wilson to sign Gallup, whose injury will sideline him for an undetermined length of time, with an undetermined impact on his future?

He has to prove he can be the man without a top receiver across from him. I think he can do it but thinking and proving are two different things. Before I paid him I’d want to see it on the fieldLol. Tolbert has gotten the majority of slot snaps in minicamp. He’s supposed to have some polish so I’m pretty confident he can step in day 1 and be a starting slot WR.He was used well in the slot. Especially when they got Coop going early. Being the #1 is not easy. And who will play the slot.

Lamb is under contract through 2023 and then will be have his 5th year option renewed for 2024. That’s 3 more years. I suspect they’ll extend him sometime during the 2024 season and don’t think they are even thinking about his contract right now
If Dak was a FA today he would get more than we paid him
Gallup is signed pretty cheap
Wilson is getting just over 7 mil a year while Gallup who any team would think is better is getting 11
And we can walk away from Gallup very cheaply after next year
They aren’t walking away next yearWe can walk away next year, and we very likely will, considering he probably won't play the first few games. That's 11 mil tossed away. Granted, it wouldn't matter much sitting in Jerry's pocket, anyway. Right now, Gallup is not better than Wilson, because Wilson can play. It remains to be seen if he comes back the same Gallup, and even if he does, I'm not convinced he's better than Wilson. Just from a QB/WR chemistry standpoint, Wilson was better.
The way they over pay is by giving a guy a huge contract based on 1 good to great year. The reason they usually overpay is because they wait to the last second
They aren’t walking away next year
There is no reason to believe he can’t come back good as ever. Players have same injury all the time
If you think Wilson is as good as Gallup then that might be why you aren’t a GM lol
If Gallup hit the market he would have got a similar contract that we gave him in a heartbeat
I’m a big Wilson fan but if you look at what his projected contract was that’s with a few bucks of what he got and so was gallups
Gallup brings more than Wilson and I really like Wilson and would have liked to have kept him too
Very true. Remember Miles Austin had that standout season & afterward he received that huge contract? He spiraled down hill the following season & never played the same again. He has to prove he can be the man without a top receiver across from him. I think he can do it but thinking and proving are two different things. Before I paid him I’d want to see it on the field
But I wouldn’t extend him even if he plays great this year. You can’t have every position on second contracts. WR is one of the easier positions to get a talented player at
