Michael Irvin was a very strong, physical receiver who ran great routes, outmuscled DBs for the ball and earned his nickname “The Playmaker” with his big time receptions. Irvin is a Hall of Famer and arguably the greatest receiver in our storied history.

While I certainly think Cedee Lamb is a very talented receiver with lots of upside, IMO his game is not comparable to Michael Irvin. Lamb is not as physical as Irvin was even though he is close to the same size. Lamb is probably better than Michael was in YAC, but he has not (up to this point) exhibited the same overall big playmaking ability. He’s still young and maybe he can show some of that. But IMO, these two receivers are not that comparable at this point. Just an opinion.
Lamb is faster and has a tremendous YAC ability . Cee Dee not as physical het but he has tremendous upside . Irvin had a better QB of course throwing him the ball .

If all you say is true, then I would take CD now over Irvin.

No one got the jest of "Light"

Irivin had much better hands. CD drops too many balls. Irvin was top 5 in his era. Lamb is top 20

You seem very angry.

I never called Dez a 1 trick pony, I was always a huge fan of Dez and still think he got a raw deal. Anyways...I hope you're right. Toodles.

I expect to get hammered, its ok.

Only reason I brought it up was because it looks like he's the man to start the season and not a lot proven except Schultz.

Irving was dominate and I view Lamb as a Nice finesse receiver.

So, blast away!
From a WR prototype they are very different.
Irvin was a route runner and strong at point of catch.
CeeDee is a monster after the catch guy.
But I do think Dallas plans to target CeeDee like an elite top 10 WR.
Live with the occasional drop or batted ball for the big play results CeeDee brings.

Irvin wasn't even Irvin after his first 3 years in the NFL. He had too many drops early in his career and wasn't a top 25 receiver during that time. Then in his 4th season, things popped. He started living up to his potential and became the Irvin that Dallas wide receivers strive to emulate.
