Lance should be the second quarterback

Lance is a turnover machine who has bad accuracy problems and struggles to read a defense.

Rush might not be a gunslinger, but he is accurate, takes care of the football, and he can read defenses way better than Lance.

It's easy to understand why the Cowboys chose to keep Cooper Rush as QB2 this season.

Pre Dak agreement I think this would have some validity to it, but at this point its a waste of time to put resources into Lance. I'm very pro Trey Lance, but it's not a project a team like the Cowboys who have their QB locked up for the next half decade need to take on. They need to find a new Trey Lance around 2027 to start working with.

I wouldn't mind 2026 even maybe 2025 if its there to take..

I think he could do a better job starting for the Browns.

Develop him for what? To be a free agent and sign somewhere else next year.

Give it a rest.
He’s not capable of running the offense effectively. Rush doesn’t have the physical skills but he doesn’t cost you games. Lance will sit all year unless there is an injury and next year he will be in another teams camp hoping to make a team

I have infinitely more confidence that Cooper Rush can step into a game and win it if something happens to Dak. Because Rush has done it numerous times already.

If Lance goes out there instead I would be a nervous wreck.

No matter what eventually happens with him - trade, long term backup, future starter etc. - Lance needs snaps in blowouts like yesterday.

Also, he has potential to be useful on special plays and inside the 10.

Cooper Rush can still be the starter in case Dak is injured for a few games. But we don't need to see him hand the ball off and take a knee when we're 26 points ahead In the fourth quarter.

We invested in him. We should use some game time to develop him.
investment was a mistake as in any other picks you invest. so for example we moved on from Fehoko after one season. so what. Jerry fell for it. spent too much and now we know.

move on. more snaps in meaningless games won't make a difference because if its a meaningless game he is going to be handing it off anyway to kill the clock.

just come to terms with the fact that its a wasted pick...

So if Dak does not bring us a SB, that was another huge investment, mistake?
yes it would be.

By that logic Martin was a bad investment even though he is going to make the Hall of Fame.

Rush is the better QB right now. If you want to win games right now. Then rush needs to be on the active roster on game days in case Dak gets hurt.
He threw some pretty ugly balls in preseason when he had his chance. I don’t like either one of them. Both have their strength.
