No matter what eventually happens with him - trade, long term backup, future starter etc. - Lance needs snaps in blowouts like yesterday.

Also, he has potential to be useful on special plays and inside the 10.

Cooper Rush can still be the starter in case Dak is injured for a few games. But we don't need to see him hand the ball off and take a knee when we're 26 points ahead In the fourth quarter.

We invested in him. We should use some game time to develop him.
10 Realistic QB's to replace Tua.

Trance's name nowhere to be found.

IMO, I don't think the kid can mentally operate at the level needed to play NFL QB. The only thing keeping Trey in the league is that he was a former 1st rd draft pick and has athleticism at the QB position. If he doesn't start putting it together then he might not even develop into even a QB2 in the future.

But to answer your question, Rush is better than him by a good bit.

At some point, don’t elite QBs carry teams to wins? Is Dak elite. According to many he is.
No they don't. That's the biggest misconception that drives so much of the discussion here. The QB is the most important player on the field, yes, but no QB "carries his team to wins." Once you let go of that idea, everything makes much more sense.

That’s because “carry” has always been a metonym for an individual or group that is a part of a team that has a significant impact on the team’s winning. Like Michael Jordan in basketball or Emmitt Smith in football (who literally did carry the ball), or the Chicago Bears defense in 1985 or the Baltimore Ravens defense in 2000.

It’s never meant that one player just wills a team to victory outside of the play of other players. It means he makes the significant plays when things break down or the crucial plays that are needed to keep drives alive or whatever and ultimately win.

Two things. (1) Many many people here and elsewhere believe the red part and mean it exactly that way. (2) The last, bolded part, is just saying the red part in a different way.

No wonder why people have a problem with you, you’re a little bit disturbed I think. I challenged you to show me a post where I was negative about anything cowboy.
Let him be. He is part of about a dozen posters from each side of this petty war they are having that is making it intolerable

I’m sure 1) and 2) are believed by very few people, but I don’t believe it is by most.

You think that no player carries a team. That’s fine. I believe carrying means what I tried to explain, so it does exist in that limited sense.

Another more recent example of a player “carrying” a team to me was Steph Curry in the last two games of the Olympics, particularly in the final.

Wonder if McDaniels was a champion of Lance while in SF. They can use a QB..
I mean there are about a dozen better QBs they would call first who would give them a better chance to win. Tannehill who they could just sign off the street would be a better option.

If there was a high demand for an inexperienced QB3, Trance would be at the top of the list.
