Pulled? He got an offer from one of the best programs in the nation. Many coaches would have done the same

Tennessee isn't exactly a junior college. He made a whole lot of promises and left after one year. It would seem at USC he ruined one of the best programs in the nation. (Can I blame the Raiders continuing problems on him, too? OK, Al Davis has to get at least partial credit.) Then, there's this:

Maybe, maybe not. But I think we all agree he needed to go. Jack Del Rio would be a good hire in my opinion, he may or may not be chasing a SB still, since he won one as a position coach and I doubt he gets another HC opportunity anytime soon, but if he is open to leaving the NFL, the Trojans should pursue him heavily.

This is why I can't watch college ball..widely too inconsistent. The parity in college ball is non to negative

Who in the hell would want to watch a game where 62 points is scoreD?

Team laid down like dogs in the 3rd quarter last night but more importantly rich alumni hated the guy. Haden had no choice because when the donations dry up the coach has to go. As far as I could tell Lane was a good recruiter, but maybe the worst play caller I ever saw.

to answer the OP's question, no, I can't see him being the HC in dallas under any circumstances next year. an assistant as some have suggested? sure...but not the HC...I don't see Garrett going anywhere because the direction of this team is moving forward right now, not stale like it was prior to him becoming HC...

Great news this morning. Kiffin has some strengths (recruiting, coaching WR's) but refused to recognize his glaring weaknesses (playcalling, alienating everyone). This year's team was a mirror of their coach and a change needed to be made.

Kiffin's arrogance and attitude may keep him from finding a job, even as an assistant, anytime soon. He'll pop up as a WR coach somewhere in a few years, maybe under Pete Carroll in Seattle or with his close pal, Steve Sarkisian, at UW.

BTW Chris Peterson and David Shaw are supposed to be on Haden's short list.

James Franklin is the hot name coming out of SC for now. I'm sad to see Kiffen go. Was looking forward to UCLA taking him out. As for Kiffen being pulled off the bus at LAX. Lane is a jerk and he deserves it but that is still bush league. Not sure why SC does business this way but they do. Mike Garrett fired John Robinson with a voice mail. In the end I think Haden will get the axe as well. Not this season mind you but if Haden makes a bad football hire it could be his undoing.

The thing with Franklin is that I just don't see his pedigree as something that USC boosters would support. He might end up being a good coach, but so far he's not shown that he can go toe-to-toe with Top 20 programs consistently and win. Haden has already taken a "flyer" on his basketball hire so he needs to find a "sure thing" hire or it's his butt on the line. While I think the talk of Franklin is sincere at this time ultimately USC is going to pony up some cash and hire a well established name. I don't see Fisher giving up a NFL job to come to USC either. I can see it coming down to Petersen or Del Rio.
