Rawls would have been not only the best pick, he was the correct pick over Gibson. Cowboys got greedy, thinking they could get both.

Right now would rather have Isaiah Battle over Gibson.

Just doing a quick check, I saw two suspensions and a citation for marijuana possession prior to Isaiah Battle leaving Clemson last spring to address "family matters."

Even if Dallas has any interest, they are 27th on waiver claims, so it is very unlikely.

I'll be happy if Laurence Gibson is re-signed to the practice squad. He's a project, but appears worth developing.

How did Battle do in the preseason?

No they didn't. They viewed Green as the replacment for Free in the next year or two. At no point since the draft have the Cowboys indicated Rawls was the intended target of any draft picks.

Using PFF, Isaiah Battle (-3.2) was the second rated of 4 OTs for the Rams this pre-season who played 25% of the time.

Battle gave up 2 sacks, 2 hurries and drew 1 penalty flag in 100 snaps.

Our Laurence Gibson (-1.4) gave up 3 sacks, 3 hurries, 1 QB hit and drew 3 penalty flags in 109 snaps.

I just reviewed him in a couple of the preseason games. He didn't look as raw as Gibson but probably not as athletic either.

Gibson certainly flashed potential, but he was wildly erratic with his technique. I am actually shocked they don't want him on the PS though.

Vaughn was just painful to watch, literally could not complete a pass more than 5 yards down the field.

Gibson was laughably bad, was getting bull rushed by guys that are flipping burgers this week.

Cowboys immediately contacted Rawls after draft. He was definitely on their board. What does Green have to do with this scenario in any event?
