Lawrence and Irving are monsters

The contract blinds people. He's been playing effectively. Would I like him on a cheaper deal? Sure. But at this point, he's being paid what he's being paid and if he goes out there and gives quality play, I can't complain.

Are you going to complain when we cant resign a guy like Irvin because we are overpaying a guy like Crawford?

Heath sealed the win yesterday. He's a good player. Can his position be upgraded? Absolutely, but Heath can be a serviceable starter in this league.

Heath is terrible. We were going to win whether he caught the ball or not. Yesterdays pick was the first play he has made all year.

Just off the top of my head he fell down on a coverage in the Broncos game allowing a TD, and took a horrible angle allowing a long TD for Gurley in the Rams game. Hall of fame preseason game took a horrible angle on third string RB allowing him to score. I promise you I can find many other instances of you'd like me to continue.

Yes and then go watch the teams that you think have great safeties and watch them under the same microscope that you're watching Heath.

It's a passing league. You're going to give up yards and big plays from your safeties at times.

Heath is way down the list of our defensive problems.

1. Stopping the run

2. Linebackers in coverage

3. Soft scheme that's too easy for QB's to play against

4. Corners that play off too far at times (we've started pressing more so props for that adjustment)

5. No we can start talking safety

Dlaw is starting to make every tackle look like this on a weekly basis. He looks like one of the most dominant DE's football this year. An amazing turn around.

Are you ready to pay him????????

this game showed what happens when all parts are working.

The Dline was putting pressure on Smith forcing early/bad passes, that helped the 2ndary.
The 2ndary was keeping guys mostly in check which gave the pass rushers that extra second to try to get to Smith
The LBs were cleaning up almost everything else.

Dallas held the league's leading rusher to just 37 yards rushing

We need to upgrade him but he's not a liability out there. If you think he is you're kidding yourself.

I'm hoping for Fitzpatrick in the draft. That's the dream but I don't come away from these losses blaming Heath.

Whats beat us this year is our run defense and death by a thousands cuts because our linebackers give up short pass after short pass.
Fitzpatrick or James would go a long way to making this secondary look great behind the front 7.

Sorry but I don't see horrible. Mediocre but not horrible.

You are entitled to your opinion. Mediocre? And what is so great about mediocre? Mediocre gets you beat when the stakes are the highest.

All BS aside Heath is one of the worst safeties I have ever seen. Wilcox is better than Heath and I thought he was bad.

Because Mediocre isn't worth all the hate you're dishing out. You are over exaggerating Jeff Heath's abilities or lack there of.

He's just a guy out there. He's not hurting us anymore then any other NFL safety hurts their team.

I'll take a linebacker that can cover or a 2 footed Jaylon Smith over a new safety any day for this current team.

C'mon, you actually think Jerry is gonna let Irvin walk?

Definitely not. And he knows he cant resign or pay guys like Crawford 8-10 million if he is going to afford guys like Lawrence, Irvin, Martin.

I would expect Martin to get something like 12-15 million per year. Lawrence the same and Irvin probably 8-10 million. That is big time money. Gotta let solid rotation players like Crawford walk or pay them only what they are worth.

Just curious are the Cowboys the only team making pro bowlers from undrafted players? I mean we have Romo, Miles Austin, Leary, and likely Irving (soon to be) in our recent history.
Good observation although due to the suspension Irving will not be eligible for the Pro Bowl.

Heath never bothers me. I never find myself that upset with Heath.

Compare him to any other NFL safety and it's about the same. Teams give up passing yards in this league. It's just the way it is.

The linebackers are the guys on our team that drive me crazy with their coverage. We need better cover guys at Linebacker and we need to bolster up on our run D.

The best thing we have going for us long term is that Aaron Rodgers is currently out.

Heath's tackling angles and his propensity to drop his head so he's not seeing or wrapping at point of impact bothers me to no end.

Heath is 100% hurting this team. I watch it all game lone. He blows assignments, whiffs on tackles, and lacks play making ability. He is the EXACT type of guy that gets you beat. Just because the Cowboy offense can cover up how horrid he is doesnt make it any better. Heath is TERRIBLE!!!!!

You can criticize Jerry, but one thing Jerry does not do is let his stars get away.

Jaylon Smith is renowned for being a great coverage linebacker. He just isnt 100% yet. Hopefully he will be.

He typically overpays. Guys like Dez and Crawford are some of his worse decisions in that regard.
