Going against one of the top RTs in the league, Lawrence had a strong outing.

The last clip shows how painfully close Dallas was to winning this game. Lawrence misses Brady's arm on a strip sack by a hair. And he nearly forces the INT right into Diggs' extended reach.

DLaw is the guy that does the dirty work and gets no credit.
Now... having said that, he's not playing up to his contract.

Still a very good player and the best on the line.

As unfortunate as that is.

This team needs a proper bookend and a real DT.

The defensive line is undermanned. I was upset with zero sacks but I will reserve judgement on individual players . I've seen where it takes a little time for the defensive line to be cohesive and start getting the sacks. The line is very weak in the middle. The two guys that are supposed to be the starters, Hill and Gallimore, are injured and won't be available for several weeks.

With that said, Lawrene gave maximum effort. he is teh kind of D-lineman who isn't finished once the ball goes past him. He chases and I love that about him. He is reaching, grabbing, doing everything he can until the last second.

He's a great all around player, but if he was just a rush specialist (12+) he'd be more well recieved.

He may get 8 sacks, play excellent run defense, force a couple fumbles, tip some passes, and generally be disruptive but when the game ends and he hasn't notched a sack no one cares about the other stuff.

He isn't an elite sack player, but he's a very important player for this defense.

First time in several seasons he has actually showed up week 1 ready to play.

As others have said, he is underrated in some aspects by fans. He does a lot of stuff well. He was going against a really good player & was getting his share of wins so I can't fault him.

Tank played with effort and made his fair share of plays. Not many players will have a great deal of success when they are the sole focus of the offensive blocking scheme. Tank needs help and I am hoping that Gregory, Gallimore and Hill can help give these offensive lines a little more to think about.

Unfortunately Jaylon shows up in the second clip getting abused:(

Yes, DLAW is a high motor guy, but this dude make 21million a year to sack the QB, not play to the last second. DLAW had 5 sacks in 2019, 6 sacks in 2020......is that worth $21mil. Everyone says dont judge, DLAW by sacks.....well that what he gets paid to do...

Ironically, TACO Charlton, had just as many sacks as DLAW in 2019 and was released by the Cowboys

I will admit to being critical of Lawrence early on in the game and I was happy to be ultimately proven wrong.

D-Law does need to increase his sack total from 2019 and 2020 but it's probably not going to come against Wirfs who allowed just one sack last year. I'll take a forced fumble and a decent amount of pressure in a matchup against a top 5 Right Tackle.

He had a holding call against wirfs. Thats a sack pretty much.

Lawrence is basically Brandon Graham for the Eagles, hard worker, great run stopper, good at getting pressure, will force some fumbles, never stops fighting, even willing to try and cover someone like Gronk (though to no avail, it was a good try)... but usually a little too slow to actually tackle the QB.... i.e. - overdrafted and overpaid for the position.
