We are paying lawrence to be able to BEAT A TOP 5 RT. RT tackle mind you, NOT a LT. He is not doing it. Pressures are a joke; very subjective as what is pressure to one QB is not to another.

Demarcus Lawrence is being doubled up on with each and every passing play nowadays.

People here need to drop their agendas to berate him. He's, by far, the best DE we have!
....with no help....somebody should be getting his crumbs.

DLaw plays on our left, Offense’s right. He must play the run first and often deal with the TE as well. Your primary pass rusher is the RDE, on the offense’s left side. This is like saying a great Right side OT shouldn’t be paid because he’s not the left tackle.

Let's extrapolate Tanks single game stats over an entire season
  • 17 forced fumbles (the NFL single-season record is 10)
  • 17 holding penalties drawn
  • 85 tackles
  • 85 pressures (last years leader was 24)
  • PPF grade of 90.4
He did this against a top 5 right tackle.....tell me again how bad he play or that he didn't beat Wirfs.

He is by himself on that line ........ Randy the Savior Gregory did nothing in single coverage all night.

Yep. My friend and I were texting each other seemingly every new drive saying is 94 finally going to make a play and it never happened outside of the fumble recovery

Randy was beating his man at least half the time on pass plays, but Brady was releasing the ball in like 2.1 seconds from snap to throw.

And when he didn't have a reciever he was throwing the ball away. It's damn hard to get to the QB when he's getting the ball out so quickly. There were only a handful of plays where he was back there for way too long.

Yes, DLAW is a high motor guy, but this dude make 21million a year to sack the QB, not play to the last second. DLAW had 5 sacks in 2019, 6 sacks in 2020......is that worth $21mil. Everyone says dont judge, DLAW by sacks.....well that what he gets paid to do...

Ironically, TACO Charlton, had just as many sacks as DLAW in 2019 and was released by the Cowboys

He was released by his last team, as well. That should tell you something, right there. No opponent needs to double up on him. o_O

Our star RB is a great blocker. Our star pass rusher is great at the dirty work. Our star LB sucks at everything. Good times.

As far as the money is concerned, it's Jerry's fault for succumbing to Tank's holding himself hostage. Yes, that was not cool on Tank's part but Jerry and Stephen didn't have to fall for it. Obviously, they got fooled by that. It's on them for falling for it. Maybe the FO learned something, like they should have. If not, it won't come as a shock if it happens again. Tank is still producing now -- it's just not coming in sacks. Too many of us have misgivings about over valuing sacks and ignoring everything else. It's not like Tank is getting help from his mates on the DL -- that's for sure.

On that 2nd play Jaylon Smith (#9) gets shoves from behind which is fine but then grabbed by his jersey and swung around by the o-lineman. Should have been an unnecessary roughness penalty.

Tampa Bay gets away with a lot offensively.

Jaylon gets bullied like that almost every play. It's football. Strong men feast on weakling. Jaylon plays like a weakling. The refs are not going to save him.

DLaw's hold out was after being tagged twice, so I understand his hardball tactics. The FO knew he was a gamble or they would have paid him the 1st time & saved some money.

Our FO has a way of getting outsmarted by players agents and even the players, themselves.
It happens far too often to be simply an occasional boo-boo. They're amateurs at contract negotiations.

I think if they would quit with the insulting lowball offers & offer slightly below market 1st offers, players might accept more of them.

Lmao! I’m expecting comments like this because it’s Jaylon but there should have been a call there. He was right around the ball and pile so it was easy to see. The rules are the rules, weakling or no weakling.

In addition to that, both Jerry and Stephen seem to have a way of enraging the agents they deal with. They seem to think they can bully them into doing what they'd like. It's a habit they're paying for within too many contract deals. Capable GMs and their assistants know better than that. They start right off the bat by promising things that they later disallow. Then, they wonder why things are proceeding so poorly. They're their own worst enemy.

Not even in the top 3 worst contracts on the roster. I'll take overpaying an edge rusher over many other positions.
Agreed. I always laugh at people basically saying "cowboys are paying him to be Fringe top 3 and he's only fringe top 8".

The same thing with amari Cooper, it's like oh you poor baby how will cowboys live with a player that's only Fringe top 8 ?
