On that 2nd play Jaylon Smith (#9) gets shoves from behind which is fine but then grabbed by his jersey and swung around by the o-lineman. Should have been an unnecessary roughness penalty.

Tampa Bay gets away with a lot offensively.

Lol, I missed that.

O-linemen across the league are just rag-dolling Jaylon.

he usually does.
best DE run defender in the league.
like everyone else,id like to see more sacks.
but he is our best defender...and its not close.
gregory at the other de spot will help.
having parsons will help.
getting gallimore back will help.
this defense is better and we've only just started the season.

He may have had a good game, but the one play that sticks out in my mind is the easy TD pass to Gronk. The Dallas DB who had Gronk at the LOS, blitzed which meant Lawrence is supposed to cover Gronk. Well it looks as if Lawrence did not realize it until he was past him and it was too late. TD for TB. Way too easy.

DLaw is the guy that does the dirty work and gets no credit.
Now... having said that, he's not playing up to his contract.

Still a very good player and the best on the line.

As unfortunate as that is.

This team needs a proper bookend and a real DT.

Agreed. Tank needs to be the complimentary DE on the line. Not the lead dog. We are paying him to be the lead dog.

Im glad he is on the team. I’m just not happy he is eating up a disproportionate amount of salary cap compared to his production.

I like Tank as a player. But I think you are way over valuing him.

I don’t think “best run defender in the league” should be used in the same sentence as Tank.

I get the criticism Lawrence gets....he gets paid like he's a big sack guy. He's not. So therefore he's overpaid.

However, the guy is a GREAT FOOTBALL player. I truly love watching him play. If you're developing a defensive end in high school you put on tape of Lawrence.

I have no issues with him personally.

Let's extrapolate Tanks single game stats over an entire season
  • 17 forced fumbles (the NFL single-season record is 10)
  • 17 holding penalties drawn
  • 85 tackles
  • 85 pressures (last years leader was 24)
  • PPF grade of 90.4
He did this against a top 5 right tackle.....tell me again how bad he play or that he didn't beat Wirfs.
No he did not play up to his contract. You can use all the stats you like to cover up that REALITY. Pressures as I pointed out are about as over rated a stat as tackles. How much real pressure did he get? Not what he is being paid for

We are paying lawrence to be able to BEAT A TOP 5 RT. RT tackle mind you, NOT a LT. He is not doing it. Pressures are a joke; very subjective as what is pressure to one QB is not to another.
When did you get put in charge of the Cowboys payroll? You don't know what Tank has been told what he's getting paid for.

DLaw's best is behind him.

Could of had this guy but for the idiocy of Jerry and McClay.

I'd wonder if LVE was anywhere in the vicinity to make a play?
