Lawrence Needs To Go

DLaw only played 25% of the snaps in the 2021 regular season due to injuries.

He had 3 sacks which projects to 12 if he had played 100% of the snaps.
sure. Another reason to let him go is he is NOT AROUND.

Project all you want; how often in his entire career has he had double digit sacks?

Nah, doesn't make financial sense or football sense, at this time.

DLAW 3 sacks were against Washington in Week 14 & 16 and then Eagles in week 18.

So exactly how does that project to 12....only way I can think is if DLAW plays against losers like Washington or the Eagles backups every week.

Against Saints - 0
Cardinals - 0
NYG. - 0
Playoffs -0

Star players are suppose to SHOW UP in big games...be a DIFFERENCE MAKER....Not DLAW....he is collecting paychecks...20mil worth...and counts 27Mil towards the cap next year

I keep hearing how his run stopping ability makes up for the lack of sacks.

Or that sacks are not that important; pressures (a very subjective stat) are.

I don't care what excuses his fan boys come up with

HE NEEDS TO GO.
He doesn’t need to go. He just needs a lower salary. Also, I’d like to see him have a full season with another pass rusher.

Im by no means a Lawrence fanboy, but what is the plan if you’re letting him go? Parsons and who else? Gregory cant be trusted. Rest of the guys are JAGs. If im letting one walk its 94.

We should play Parsons like a pass rushing 3-4 OLB. Off the LOS on run downs and as a pass rusher on pass downs. He's our #1 pass rusher, and will continue to be so. And he's a good one. He's our lead guy. Our #2 we rotate guys til we find a good one. Gregory had 6 sacks. Armstrong 5. Basham 3.5. Lawrence's production isn't that hard to come by.

Lawrence has 14.5 sacks in the last 3 years. 4 playoff games from 2016 on, 0 sacks, 1 QB hit. He simply isn't worth the money we pay him. It's not even close.

And we're letting Gregory walk too. And Armstrong.

When both of them are gone, we still have Basham for a year, and we'll see what Gholston has. Too bad we lost a couple of DEs this year off the end of the depth chart. Very lucky that Parsons can take the #1 spot.

Players rarely take hair cuts, and especially DEs. They'll hit the market instead.

Gotta watch out for DLaw. He's the guy who refused to get his shoulder surgery until he got the new contract. I'd expect more injury games if he anticipates being cut.

After he pulled that I would not have signed him.

He played in 8 games this season (including the playoff game):

25 tackles
6 TFL
3 sacks
2 FF
5 PDs
1 INT (TD)

"I d0nt kAre a bout Thoze nUmberz....all thaT mAtterz R sacks!!!!"

"bUH BuH bUH, otHEr statz!"

Not being able to take the field really isn't a point in favor of his value. He played full seasons the previous two years and maxed out at 6.5 sacks. Yeah, there are other stats that matter. The PDs look good. But we need more for 20mil of cap than he gave us.

If you're satisfied with 0 sacks and 1 QB hit in 4 playoff games, you'll be satisfied with anything.

So Parsons, Gholston, Basham? Yuck.

How convenient, you left out some playoff games.

And as predicted, your evaluation of him as a player begins and ends with "sAckz."

Oh you’re big mad.

Wow, Those are some awesome numbers for a $20mil player . Plus 80 percent of those numbers you are claiming came against the Washington Football Team and the Eagles who were playing backups. He didn’t do squat against the Cardinals, Saints or Niners in the playoff.

Then Look at his career numbers (serious decline) compared to his salary. DLAW has not lived up to his contract. Dude can be easily replaced and should be the first player cut in the off season

Re-do his deal. His importance to the team is too big to just straight up cut him.

That being said, I'm disappointed with his play down the stretch.

If we could that is huge and I would want to keep him.

If we don't get to redo his contract I'm willing to get it over with and go to a 3-4. Get another OLB outside of Parsons. I think Amari's contract can use a redo also and is possible. If not he goes to. Zeke next year goes also.
