If you're so low to the ground you are going to crash within a matter of seconds you are too close to parachute.

I took the three week jump school (BAC) at Fort Benning, Georgia. It's not for the faint of heart I'll tell you that! lol

I'm sure it's not. About 40 years ago I briefly dated a girl that was into sky diving. I agreed to do it once, and we drove out to the small airport where she did this, and it turned out both of their planes we down for repairs. We broke up a few weeks later, and I never looked into it again. Hell, I knew I would have been terrified, so I wasn't eager to look into it again.

You would have been alright if you were hooked to a someone that knows how to operate a parachute, here in my home town there is a small airport that takes passengers on jumps all time without accidents. It's safe but you need to know what you are doing. Landing is about like jumping off a 10-12 foot fence so it's not bad at all.

At that time a tandem wasn't required for a first jump, but there would have been a static line. I knew it would be okay, but it still would have been scary

Bet there is a CFI in the right seat. Also looks like a Cirrus that does have a parachute system for the plane.

Well, it said that he is a licensed pilot so maybe or maybe not. What I wonder is where did he get the plane if he was in Seattle? He possibly rented it from an local airport because I'm almost sure he did not fly to Seattle from the Star! lol

Yeah but that is no cheap airplane that they are flying in right there. It's a turbo-prop single engine aircraft. That plane probably worth more than 5 million on up. Next step up would be a jet.I would imagine he would have his instrument rating to even fly that also, he's probably an experienced pilot.

That is pocket change for him. lol. If he rented it I'm sure he went to all the required channels and such like insurance. It's no big deal anyway.

Same. You won't find me anywhere near a non-commercial plane, even then I get a little nervous at the slightest rattle lol. With that said I would never tell someone not to do it. There is danger everywhere and statistically speaking it's safer than much of the stupid stuff I did in my 20s.
Im sure Cooks has enoug money to make sure his plane gets tuned up and worked on.

He probably is a pilot. I see a lot of times low time pilots that fly with CFI especially with the plane full. I’m a pilot and would hope he’d have a safety pilot in the right seat. Either way pretty cool to him fly!

I know, like when you go buy or rent a new car, you ain't going without me and my expensive plane! Having fun on their day off while there. I would not even go with Dak if he knew how to fly a plane unless he let the CFI tag along.

What was the outcome anyway? Did they land safely? Dare Devils defense Cowboys.

Ya know. It’s funny. I know the statistics and I know that flying especially commercially is extraordinarily safe and the chances of dying in a plane crash are extremely small.

And yet I still get nervous and anxious when flying somewhere. Lol
Probably because when your driving where its more dangerous than flying you feel like you have more control vs flying if something goes wrong, you can't exactly easily walk out of the plane. Least that is how I feel. I usually pray to god before the plane takes off lol.

I’d be more impressed with Stevie Wonder flying with Jerry and Stephen in the back.
