I Dolphins beat writer Omar I think qas his name really thought Escobar was gonna have a huge year for them. Being their break out player

They drafted Gesicki. He's already the blocker that Escobar was (not exactly a compliment) but 10x the receiver. Anyone who thought Escobar would make a roster had to have been a family relation.

The Texans' game announcers, too.

They were ready to hand deliver his bust to Canton, Ohio last night.

A truly awful listen.

Agreed, they were only interested in building up playmakers that weren't actually making plays. It was as bad as I've ever heard in the NFL. Made me appreciate Brad Sham even more than I already did...

Callahan was interesting, might stick as a backup somewhere in a few years. Hackenburg was surprisingly terrible. Like he’d never played for an nfl team before.

Not sure how surprising about the Hackenburg being terrible is... He was terrible in college. He was blessed with an abundance of talent around him.

Draft Day is hilarious to me only because of just how awful it really is in terms of what front offices actually do. It's the equivalent of watching Armageddon on TV and then proclaming yourself informed about astroscience.

You won the Internet with that statement.

How do you figure? How is Escobar not better than Jarwin and Schultz at the very least?

How do you figure Escobar is better? Escobar had 4 years in Dallas, another year in Baltimore and another year in Miami, and he has never accomplished anything. His career average is 56 yards PER SEASON, plus he is a notoriously terrible blocker.

Jarwin and Schultz are just starting out. There is no way you assume a guy that is a proven failure despite multiple opportunities is a better player than guys that haven't even had their opportunities yet.

Lesson for Rico: Learn how to block.

Escobar has a huge catch radius and great hands. Knows his routes. Was touted as one of the great new receiving TEs. But is a slow, plodding, long strider. Much like Rico, only better in many ways. And he struggles to make a 53.

Escobar should have put on weight and strength to become a blocker with a huge catch radius. That's a great player to have. But without the blocking, he can't stick. He's just a big, slow, plodding WR. No one has a need for that.

Learn to block, Rico. Don't be Escobar. You already have more than enough strength and power. Just learn. Or you could spend your career struggling to make a roster.

Cowboys should sign Kikaha, he is relentless pass rusher even though injury prone. Titans covet him and Rams with Wade should.

I don't see where he would fit. We have pass rushers at DE with Lawrence and Gregory, and already have an undersized pass rushing specialist backing them up (Armstrong). Then there is Taco, and possibly Tapper as bigger DEs.
