Interesting note from Leary and how he's feeling right now. Apparently, he agrees that the groin injury is non existent and wants out.

Don't blame him. He's missing out on millions on his next contract.

I imagine he does.

Being one of the best guards in the NFL and standing on the sidelines in a jump suite will do that to a player.

If nobody wants to offer anything for him though than we have every right to keep him.

What's the point of not activating him if he's not hurt? Are we trying to trade him or something?

Can't blame him for wanting out. He could probably land a starting gig on most teams.

But, can't blame the 'Boys for holding onto him right now. Great depth and he's under contract.

And, he's always seemed like a standup dude so I don't think he'd ever be a distraction or problem, while sitting on the bench.

It's a numbers game for the active roster each week. Dallas and other teams only want to carry players that will contribute on game day. Since Leary can't play Tackle or Center, he has limited value on the active game day roster. He isn't going to play Special Teams or in sub-packages either so it only makes sense to have him active if he is starting (which would mean Collins or Martin is injured and not on the active roster). If Leary had position flex, he would be active.

I think they should trade him. As I have stated before, the benefit is two fold. First, Dallas gets compensation which won't be there should he just leave as a UFA. Second, Dallas can dictate where he goes on to become a starter. As an UFA Leary could sign in Washington reuniting with Callahan and improving a divisional rival. The Giants also need OL help and he could sign there as a free agent as well, improving their offense and OL. It is somewhat petty but it is done in pro sports all the time. As a matter of fact, it's done in the NCAA all the time as well...Saban never lets a transfer leave for a SEC team.

Dallas should trade him now and get some value,

I want to trade him. Silly to have him inactive each week and then lose him for nothing in the offseason.
It takes 2 to tango......GB wasn't able to get anything for their starting Pro Bowl OG Josh Sitton so they cut him outright...that was stupid.....rival CHI immediately signed him to a 3 year deal

DAL can at least get a comp pick IF he signs a big deal next year

How...do they not have videotape in 2017......he has to play by the same negotiated FA rules as every other player......DAL would be stupid to give away an asset

You think a team would pay Leary the same amount as if he was starting the 2015 and 2016 season compared to riding the inactive list?

The last (healthy) game tape they have of him is from 2014. Would be almost two full years since he played a regular season NFL snap.

If Leary were to be traded, play close to his 2014 standards, he would at least have some recent game performances to negotiate a better deal with his new team or in FA.

I can't see Leary signing a big deal next year if he stays in street clothes the entire 2016 season.

Hey if no one is offering anything worthy, keep him. However, I understand his frustration

I kind of wish they'd kick Martin out to tackle and let Leary play guard.

Disagreed with how DAL handled him all off-season.
Hard-line stance is not benefiting team.
Should have tagged him at a low level and let him go or traded him for cheap.

When he leaves in FA he'll bring a 5th or 6th in return in 2018.
Could have gotten that easily in the off-season.
It's rather dumb by Dallas IMHO.
If he is forced to play now he'll be rusty and untrustworthy.
What do we gain exactly?
