You don't have to convince me the draft is fixed. :(

The NBA is organized crime from the top down. It's closer related to a soap opera or pro wrestling than an actual sport.

lol, i mean think about this, the spurs have been in the lottery like twice, and both times they win it? im pretty sure there is some obligation to the spurs from the ABA/NBA merger, if i could be a fly for a couple of hours and listen in on NBA stuff...

come on man, the draft is fixed. they werent gonna give lebron to memphis

Detroit owned the 2nd pick in that draft, from a deal with Memphis.

but wasnt it protected? like if it was the number one pick it would have gone to memphis? i could be completely mistaken on this one.

It was a deal left over from when they were in Vancouver. Stu Jackson made a trade for Otis Thorpe and they kept pushing the pick out, not sure how, until we had no choice but to make the trade unless we got the #1 overall. So of course we get the #2 and have to trade. The irony is the player Det picked ended up signing with Memphis as a FA. :laugh2:

lol ya!

but wasnt jerry west there when that draft happened? im sure the grizz would have ended up picking a good player like melo, bosh or wade, instead of the absurd darko

Yes Jerry was around but he had nothing to with the trade other than being on the short end of it.

ya i guess my point was that i doubt jerry would have drafted darko if someone else hadnt screwed the franchise with that stupid trade before he got there, he would have drafted wade or bosh IMO

LeBron makes Kobe look like a poor mans LeBron. He's in a whole other league.

Not really. Lebron is certainly more physically gifted but to me that just makes what Kobe does that much more impressive.

Lebron is also a good deal younger at this point, at some point Kobe's game will start to decline but I don't think we're there yet.

kobe can score a little bit better than lebron, and he is more clutch. but lebron is WAY better at everything else.....advantage, lebron

Shut that **** up. LOL. You dont have to foolishly understate Kobe's game to make Lebron look good. Lebron is solid, but Kobe is the best player right now. he will pass the torch to Lebron at some point, but not anytime soon.

LOL at you guys thinking Kobe is the best player. Kobe's a better shooter, but LeBron holds the title of everything else. He makes Delonte West and Wally Szerbiak look like Reggie Miller and Scottie Pippen. LeBron MVP..catch up Kobe.

i think the torch got passed on at some point this season, lebron is the best player in the world starting at some point early this season and will be for the next 5-8 years

Oh that's right, Kobe has never been MVP or been an NBA champion.

The argument over who's best is a silly one anyway considering they are both beasts.

Hold that thought, Kobes not done winning championships. He still got some gear left.
