The guy that brought it in was Les Paul's nephew. The guitar was owned and played by his Aunt Mary Paul. All the work done on the guitar was by Les Paul. Included in the sale were original contracts with Gibson to make the guitars all signed by Les Paul. The only thing that would've made it better if it was Les's guitar.

Oh yeah, that would definitely jack the price up...

I thought you sold this guitar because you weren't impressed. It is beautiful and I love Les Pauls. As soon as I can legitimize it in my budget, I'll be buying one.

Nope, I haven't sold it. I was thinking about it because I was having issues justifying having two expensive guitars since I don't even consider myself an actual musician. (just a hobbyist) Since I play a lot of very heavy stuff, I figured I was better off keeping the Ibanez since it is better for that style.

I find myself playing both quite often, so I never brought myself to sell it. I love the guitar and right now I am not planning to sell it.

I just put a new set of Regular Slinkys on it. Damn that guitar sounds awesome with brand spanking new Slinky strings on it! :yourock:

I love Pawn Stars but it's getting too scripted imo! When it first came out it was more off the cuff and now it's "too Hollywood" but I understand with the popularity of the show they kinda had to go that route. Has anyone watched Storage Wars or Auction Hunters? I love Storage Wars and Auction Hunters is pretty good. The Cajun Pawn Stars show is just ok but that one guy Joker is hilarious!

It is totally scripted. Most of the time when somebody brings in an odd ball item, Rick has a buyer already lined up for it. Alot of the time it is through those experts he brings in. For example anybody ever seen the guitar collection at the Hard Rock Hotel a few miles from the shop? The show has to be that way because the bulk of their business is through the sale of gold and silver, which nobody is going to turn in and watch.

i've got:
ovation acoustic
les paul "knock off" guitar
carvin LB70 bass
line 6 Spider 210
Carvin Bass amp

and i can't play a lick. i just made too much money at the time and loved having them around.

I watch Pawn Stars, too, but during that episode it was snowing here in Utah so I lost the satellite feed and missed it. I did scroll through the History Chanel and found it coming on again in a few days so I set it to record.

I also like to watch Hard Core Pawn, and I've seen Pawn Queens a time or two (Nikki is smoking hot)!

Cajun Pawn Stars is alright...as is American Pickers.

;)

heh - tugs are cool. : )

pawn stars is coming near the end of its lifespan to be sure, but i still love what i learn from the show.

this show the les paul was just amazing.

That was a cool item. If that guy didn't need quick money he should've held out. He might've doubled his money.

Im liking Cajun Pawn Stars better than the regular pawn stars these days.

I like this show and "American Pickers". The guys on "American Pickers" just seem so likeable and they meet some interesting people.

They opened a store here in Nashville recently. I love American Pickers as well but haven't had the chance to get there yet. I hope when I do show up Danielle is there.

The Vegas boys are not happy about the redneck spinoff. Always thought Chumlee would be the one to get the spinoff.

yea, but that's what TV does. something sells, copy it. i don't watch cajun pawn stars now cause it seemed the only people who brought stuff in were neighbors and employees.

$90k is the most i've seen rick spend on this guitar. maybe more and yes, having jets and so forth come through has been cool. maybe the cobra cost more than $90k?

in cajun pawn stars he was offering 1/2 a mil for i think a 10,000 bill or something like 1,000 - it's just "too much" for me and i prefer the real nature of the original.

i still think chumlee will wind up in a movie first.

By the way, Cajun Pawn Stars are located in Alexandria, La. It's no where near Cajun Country.

Yeah. We would go there on occasion when I was at Ft.Polk. I liked Lake Charles better.

I have a lot of relatives up in Alex. Actually a lot in Pineville right outside of Alex, but they had the best catfish house there. Called "Grandma's Catfish House." Been there since I was a kid and we would go up and visit relatives.

There seems to be a lot of folks in need of basic dentistry down there.

There are a lot in NYC too. Bet there are a big boat load in Washington with you too.

Yeah I've watched Storage Wars too. It's ok. It just seems too over the top to me and those guys just play to the camera crew way to much when it comes to their rivalry with one another.

I like the older guy on it cause he seems very laid back and chill about what he's doing and never seems to be in there to try and screw someone by jacking up the price or whatever other silly nonsense.

This thread is about Les Paul guitars. Not crappy TV shows. Back on topic people! :)

They'll probably find a Les Paul in storage at some point, if they haven't already on a show, so it's on topic enough. :p
