Maybe I just have the rules wrong. I didn't think you needed to request an interview if it's for a HC position.

I would think requesting is just the formal/correct thing to do when the candidate is employed by another team. I can’t imagine an owner would be too thrilled to find out 1 of his under contract employees is interviewing for another job through the media. Of course the Seahawks can’t say no either
