Would it matter with Dak as the QB? He needs guys to run routes and get wide open.

It matters, you exaggerate on Dak being inaccurate, He has thrown some perfect passes and yes will throw some balls high and behind at times, so do all other QB. I have seen many great catches by other WR digging balls out, making the great catches that are too high and behind them yet you seem to think that all others are pin point accurate with all throws and Dak isn't? that is false.

I think Devin Duvernay is the perfect Cobb replacement.

There is a lot of solid slot types.

In theory, yeah. If he’s guaranteed to be there. I’m ok with that. But we know the draft never falls how you want lol

But I prefer drafting BPA. Not panicking we have no slot receiver falling to us. These guys won’t hurt sitting a year behind Cobb and being the 4th WR.

With that being said, I’m not overpaying Cobb as well. So tons of variables go into this decision.

They’ll have to let him walk if he gets an offer over 5 million per. Can’t pay everyone.

I didn’t mean it as he is inaccurate. I meant it as he is a QB that doesn’t throw guys open. He doesn’t give receivers chances very often to go make a play on their own.

Our receivers aren’t making a lot of high point catches or back shoulder catches.

I say re-sign Cobb and let Cooper walk. Dallas can't commit $15M+ to Cooper, $30M+ to Dak, already committed $10.9M for Zeke in 2020, and a ton of money to the o-line.

You also have Gallup in need of a new deal in after 2021 (last year of his rookie deal) so best to have Gallup, Cobb, and draft a rookie for the WR corps.

And then we can't figure out why the D stinks. Can't have a steak on every plate and you need some steaks on the defensive side. If they sign Cooper, Cobb on top of paying Dak this team is flat out stupid. But we kinda knew that already.

I think Mike said last week he'd like to have both Cooper and Cobbs back. I think he's back but I'm still drafting one in round 3 or 4.

I would like to keep Cobb but there isn’t enough money to go around. Cowboys should use mid round pick to select a slot receiver that has quickness and speed but maybe not the size.

I agree 100%. Cobb can be replaced in the draft. Even a guy like Proche from SMU in the 4th or 5th Round can give you what Cobb does at a much cheaper 4 year deal. He can play slot where he is best fitted in the NFL.

McCarthy'a teams have alwaya had multiple quality WRs. Hard to see him parting ways with Cobb, whom he has a history with. He is like Parcells' Terry Glenn.

Cobb is going to work a deal with the FO so he can work with MM again. For that reason, I don't think the use of a mid-round pick is warranted on a WR. The defense needs to be the focus of this draft.

Why don't they just draft the best one available and design plays around him? You know, like McCarthy explained how he wants to acquire talent just last week. Rather than pass on better talent because they don't fit.

Agreed. He is a nice piece to a team with very few holes. We are not that team. Plus, last year may have been a bit of fools gold with his health, as he's been banged up quite a bit in the last couple seasons. Too much talent in this draft class to be paying a 3rd receiver big $.
Witten is leaving.

He was pulling $3 mil/yr.

Use it on Cobb.

I think we will hate it if Cobb leaves, Witten is off fishing and Dak is taking sacks trying to keep drives alive.

You keep Cobb, you draft or find a TE in FA and next year draft or sign a FA slot guy.

Or you resign Dez AND PUT HIM IN THE SLOT NOW.

What a concept.

Dez does not need to run alot of deep passes..he uses his body to take short passes upfield..his style of play will be disruptive as he gets open when Dak scrambles or sprints out.

Beasley did these things and was very successful.

Dez and another good TE can win alot of games by themselves.

I know becuz I have seen us do it before.

This is what I think also. But i do think a usual we have a list of players ranked high picks and if one slips to us in these first 3 rounds we may not be able to pass it up. That likely goes for CB and WR and OL. Maybe even QB. Guessing it will be a mostly Defensive draft.

Cobb could likey get close to 7 per year in FA. He may take a slight discount to stay here and work with MM.

Agree. Mike said he did a lot more with Cobb in Green Bay than Dallas did last year but thought Cobb played better as a pure receiver. Cobb's wife, Aiyda Ghahramani, is an attorney who specializes in patent infringement litigation in Federal Courts. She looks good in a bikini too!

This draft has what is considered maybe the deepest wr class ever, if we decide its better to sign Dez who was finished 3 years ago and a pain in the a** we deserve to be an 8-8 team.
