Let Cobb walk

All I'm saying is that there were several factors going against Dez his last year in Dallas. #1, the offensive system did him zero favors in terms of putting him into a situation with Dak that favored them both. #2, His motivation wasn't as high and he was losing confidence.

Having said that, with a new system, better coaching and a highly motivated Dez without the inflated paycheck could be a very positive thing. There is a chance that Dez is in great shape, highly motivated and primed for good things. If he gets a tryout that would be awesome, if he fails he fails.
Who cares about anything pertaining to the Cowboys WR corps 2 or 3 years ago? It has nothing to do with the present.

Dez is older, post-Achilles tendon repair, lost a step. The only time anyone that matters thinks about him is when Jerry does it in the shower. The media is hyping him big time but that's all it is. Go ahead and get your hopes up for nothing.

I have no hopes of a older and injured Dez Bryant making the team Mr King, but I do have hopes of this special talent getting a chance to show he can wax some incumbent receivers.

I get that. I think McCarthy has a good comfort zone with Cobb, with Dez there is a certain amount of drama that comes with him. Dez saying he will take a lesser role today vs once the game is underway and he is ranting on the sideline wanting the ball to come to him. A younger Dez you are willing to tolerate some of it an older Dez 2 years removed not so much

Right, but all men deserve second chances, and most men mature and change their outlooks. I'm much more humble in my older age as I'm sure Dez is as well. All I'm saying is it can't hurt to give him a look. If he is heads and shoulders above some of the other guys down the depth chart and will work for cheap you gotta take a look. You can say lots of things about Dez, but the man certainly has fire.

Randall Cobb ran a 4.46 40 at the combine, when his legs were way younger. Henry Ruggs III ran a 4.28 40. Ruggs is the fastest receiver in the draft and he's way faster than Cobb.

At this point in Cobb's career, he's not going to burn you deep. He's a slot receiver, a former quarterback who is an outstanding route runner. I don't think the two are mutually exclusive, you can have both.

I don’t need size, I need a receiver that has speed and quickness to create separation.

I need a player in the mold of Steve Smith!

That's unrealistic. Not only is that not going to happen, he isn't even going to be given a tryout. The once upon a time "special talent" is no more. It's a dream that no longer exists and the sooner you wise up to figure this out the sooner you'll stop making these ridiculous posts. Dez has caught his last NFL pass... or did he drop it? I don't remember that far back.

The point is, he's done. God was trying to tell this poor sap something when he got hurt working out with the Saints... It's time for him to do something else. It's sad to watch Dez oblivious to his own fate and the media just urges him on as if his wishes are realistic. The media propagates lies to the masses and many such as yourself are gullible enough to believe because you want so badly for it to be true.

I don't enjoy saying these things but they need to be said. I appreciate your hopes for Dez but in the real word those hopes belong with the hopes of little children that go to bed early on Christmas Eve night in hopes of Santa Claus will visit with gifts while they sleep or leprechauns running around hiding their pot of gold under the end of rainbows. It's not what's really going on.

I would like to keep Cobb but there isn’t enough money to go around. Cowboys should use mid round pick to select a slot receiver that has quickness and speed but maybe not the size.

Here goes this not enuff money crap again
I can't believe you guys are still this native and misunderstanding about the salary cap.

Only if Cobb is high pricing himself as Cole Beasley like contract....
Then it becomes a different matter... then hes definitely walking on greener pastures.

If it's a fair mutual deal between both parties and Stephen doesnt do the lowball Cobb, like what he accepted to sign here last year, then I can see Cobb resigning and returning here again.
