Wait, lets not... since we have a future hall of fame quarterback.

How come no one ate crow on this one?

I was definitely right about Steven Jackson.

how were you right about Jackson? And as a resident of South Bend (and a ND hater) I too am not sold on Brady

he's a quality guy but not accurate

I flipped out when we didn't draft him, it was an obvious chance to get an elite running back, instead we traded down to get Julius Jones.

The only redeeming value is that trade turned into DeMarcus Ware.

Dallas used the picks they gained in the trade with Cleveland to land Felix Jones and Anthony Spencer. Plus they got to keep Tony Romo. I would take any single one of those players over Brady Quinn. It is a no brainer that having all three is much better than having Brady Quinn.

That's a seriously redeeming value!

No, that trade turned into Marcus Spears who is a good player.

Good chance that if we only have 1 draft pick, we get spears instead....

we almost drafted him first i believe.

Were there really people who wanted to draft Quinn? Or were upset when we didn't draft him? I think some people played with the idea, but I don't know anyone who was really upset about it.

I know personally, I would have been really upset if we had drafted Quinn or any QB in the first round.

"redeeming"?????

DeMarcus Ware >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Steven Jackson

RB's, unless they are Emmitt Smith or Walter Payton, are a dome a dozen.

Great pass rushers are much harder to find. Ware is the best defensive player in football, Jackson is a good RB who is hurt quite a bit.

Actually, we took Demarcus Ware with our pick, we took Marcus Spears with Buffalo's pick. But with all things considered, I'm happy with our team, and our running backs, even though I wanted us to get Steven Jackson as well. As I recall, the biggest reason we didn't draft him was because of his agents who Parcells didn't want to negotiate with.

And if we had only one of the two first round picks, Parcells might have got his wish and taken Spears at 11.

Correct, Parcells wanted Spears, but Jerry wanted Demarcus. Umm, thank you Jerry.

I only know of one person who kept pushing the Brady Quinn agenda...

DeMarcus Ware will be playing at an elite level longer than any running back will, Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson included. RBs take way too many hits.

Well maybe not Chris Johnson since he runs without getting touched a lot.

we're all right and wrong on a daily basis. i see no reason for anyone to eat crow and even less reason for people to brag on how bad arse they are by getting a pick right between having to say 'do you want fries with that'.

No way Jerry would have taken Spears if they only had one pick. Bill wanted Spears where we took Ware. Jerry overruled and got his guy first. It wouldn't have even been an argument if we only had one pick.
