I agree
people just are eat up with this idea that no matter what, a player will duplicate their success someplace else if they had ended up here...
nothing could be further from the truth people

Substitute "player" for "Defensive Coordinator" and you've invalidated 90% of what this board goes crazy about.
I'll say it again, the best predictor of future performance is past performance. It's true of Defensive Coordinators and it's true of players. You can't say "Jim Johnson (or whoever) will do better than Mike Zimmer" and then tell me I can't say "Steven Jackson will do better than Julius Jones" when we're BOTH basing our claims on past performance and relative success.
Now, again, I cannot say for SURE that Jackson would be better than Jones but I feel Jackson's past performance has been superior to Jones past performance - yes, even with our o-line playing as poorly as it has.
I personally wonder if Jones doesn't want to be traded. I wonder if he thinks he's a franchise caliber back and doesn't want to give up all the TD's to Barber, and wouldn't be better off elsewhere. Just a thought.
