That Draft day.... How could I forget? I probably should have been banned. :)

Haah! There were definitely some unhappy campers that Saturday. I swore jdnalls was a prime candidate to open fire at Valley Ranch.

I agree

people just are eat up with this idea that no matter what, a player will duplicate their success someplace else if they had ended up here...

nothing could be further from the truth people

Substitute "player" for "Defensive Coordinator" and you've invalidated 90% of what this board goes crazy about.

I'll say it again, the best predictor of future performance is past performance. It's true of Defensive Coordinators and it's true of players. You can't say "Jim Johnson (or whoever) will do better than Mike Zimmer" and then tell me I can't say "Steven Jackson will do better than Julius Jones" when we're BOTH basing our claims on past performance and relative success.

Now, again, I cannot say for SURE that Jackson would be better than Jones but I feel Jackson's past performance has been superior to Jones past performance - yes, even with our o-line playing as poorly as it has.

I personally wonder if Jones doesn't want to be traded. I wonder if he thinks he's a franchise caliber back and doesn't want to give up all the TD's to Barber, and wouldn't be better off elsewhere. Just a thought.

That is one of Jerry Jones' fatal flaws.

He has absolutely no sense of timing when it comes to extending players.

We made big mistakes on players like Larry Allen before and we did it again two times this year.

We can only hope he doesn't make the same mistake with Romo.

The franchise and transition player designations are around for a reason. It might be time we started exercising them.

In all fairness, just about everyone on this board was applauding when Brady James got his extension...the guy was playing lights out early in the year, and we were touting him as a possible probowler, saying we needed to lock him up.

I don't recall anyone questioning the deal at the time...the question is what has happened since then that has made him disappear in the games.

I don't think anybody's saying he's above making mistakes... it just seems to be an odd place to focus one's displeasure in the current state of affairs, where there are so many other clearly deserving targets.

The fact that there are problems elsewhere on this team does not diminish the fact that Julius is running like junk.

Are you the type of person that fixes his muffler by turning up the stereo?

No, I'm the kind of person who'll worry about the muffler AFTER dealing with the four flat tires, the non-functioning brakes and the empty gas tank.
