When you are average and playing on a below average and or banged up squad you tend to look more sparkly than you really are. This is/was Scandric. Never more than just average league player playing with new/below average guys.
This is definitely true if you ignore any meaningful metric and the eye test.

I think over the past 20 years we've developed a habit of singling out players for criticism because of the losses,,, OScan is a very good corner and he's never had an issue with hammys that I recall. His return will not be that big of a boost since Brown is playing so well, but it will shore up our depth in case another CB goes down.

His return will be a hell of a boost if he returns healthy.

Are you serious, Egg? Brown has flashed, and it's great. But he isn't the slot CB that a healthy OScan is. Not yet, and it's not even close. In man or zone. Cut it out.

This thread is amongst my top two or three "what the <censored>" threads in the past couple months, and that says a lot with @Gabe and @Joe Realist (sorry Joe, you've been decent lately, but you're still a CZ meme) amongst our members here.

Or maybe, just maybe, the secret naysayers are eating the Mo hype (yeah, it's damned real, baby) and they're getting bold? Declaring OScan as extraneous?

Idk... someone help me out here.

I think the all of the CBs have played pretty well the last couple of weeks, maybe adding Oscan will be a bigger boost than I realize but it doesn't look like we're hurting anywhere.

We have had very solid CB play this whole season (minus WSH), but a healthy OScan will do that much more, Egg :)

Brown has looked very nice. Didn't mean to take that away from your post, bud

Nobody in the NFL does a better job at staying with the WR and doing nothing to defend the pass like Scandrick.

In all seriousness, he's a decent corner that will help the depth once healthy.

Brown is already better
I've never liked Scandrick. Dude is a grumpy ***** in real life. Not a likable person at all.

Could it be that Scandrick got Romo'd by Anthony Brown?

*shameless attempt to have this thread moved to the QB zone.

Seriously though, it seems like posters here don't appreciate the value of depth. As soon as one player overtakes another be it by injury or outperformance, people are ready to jettison the player by trade, cut, etc. Leary, Scandrick, McFadden, the list goes on. It really is OK to have more than one capable player at any given position.

My post has nothing to do with Scandrick as a player. The guy in real life is a a douchebag.

Not gonna lie... I never understood the hype around him being labeled as "our best defensive back" and sometimes even "our best defensive player"... but I kinda just rolled with it and pretended like he was this great player. He's really not that good and never was.

Poster is an idiot. Yes hamstring injuries can be aweful and take forever to heal. If you haven't had one I can see why you wouldn't understand. My last one I couldn't even move the pain was so bad and it took two months to heal. But it still hurts 6 months later.

I was playing softball when I was 26 and running flat out to first base trying to beat a throw. Ten feet from the base it was like someone shot me in the leg. I could barely walk for two days. Diagnose was a serious strain. Bothered me for 6 months and I'm not sure I ever regained the speed (of lack there of) that I had earlier. I think a serious strain can take months to heal. That's the biggest muscle in your body. Takes a long long time to heal properly. Happens to a bunch of athletes including track guys. I hope he can play again after the bye. We will need him for sure.
