Some of the comments in here make me chuckle.

A few months ago, he was a key missing part to the disastrous 2015 season.

How many teams lose their QB, their WR, their best CB and can win? Huh? You can't win without that!

Amazing how a year makes a difference.
I literally never remember that

Do I have to?

Actually, no. Did you realize that participation in every post and every thread on this site is optional? If a thread doesn't interest you, all you have to do is move on from it to find a different one that does. I don't say this as a wise guy either. I'm just saying it's your right to be selective in what threads you choose to participate in.

Scandrick is an average talent or slightly above average talent who plays with a lot of passion. Right now he's struggling with injury.

Orlando Scandrick is a perfect example of why cornerbacks don't matter.

He was supposed to be our best corner. If I told you over the summer he would be out for a good portion of the season I'd have to administer first aid to most of you. Yet he has missed that time and it doesn't matter. He's not an impact player.

File it away the next time we have a top 5 pick and your reflex is to campaign for another cornerback.

Yeah, they matter so little that they should all be sitting in a chair, smoking a cigarette, and watching the game from their cornerback position. No one would score on them. They are totally unimportant.

All the defenders matter. Offenses target weaknesses.

Speaking of weaknesses, Risen's argument depends on people believing we've had poor CB play in Scandrick's absence and have won anyway. Whereas the opposite has been true.

Ok, let's talk about him. What do you want to know? He's a pretty good player when he isn't hurt. I have noticed something peculiar though that maybe you guys have also noticed. He doesn't make any plays when he is on the sidelines. Has anyone else noticed that?

People act like Brown is out here making big plays. He has a couple of pass breakups. Ugh
Brown's not making huge plays but he's a 6th round rookie doing what Scandrick does and then some.

He actually turns his head around to locate the ball unlike Scandrick. He's got great speed in the slot and if he gets beat, it's usually by a perfectly located pass. Makes plays in the run game and on a special teams. There's a lot to like.

He doesn't make any plays when he's on the field either. 7 INT's in 8 seasons.

Corners matter. DL matters more though

i agree, i can't name any of the corners from the NYG squad that beat the Pats in the 2007 Super Bowl but i remember most of their DL.

Corners matter these days, esp if you have a Sherman type or other top flight guy, however the rules are such now that DBs can't touch a WR and Deion would have a hard time these days having the kind of impact he did back then. He DEFINITELY would've gotten called for that PI against Irvin and we'd have had 4 straight.
DL does two things and effects two ways where DBs really only affect one. A good DL can stuff the run AND rush the passer while DBs are generally only good for passing plays. A great DL can dictate to the offense what plays it can/can't run and then force throws that it can also greatly affect with a good rush.

Gawd you are a moron.

We have been getting elite play from Claiborne and surprisingly nice play from Brown. That's why Scandrick's absence hasn't been that significant.

"Cornerbacks don't matter" -- you are getting laughed off the map.

I thought it would be a bad signing, but I can easily see Washington sitting at 1-4 if they did not have Josh Norman.

I agree with those who are baffled by this thread. Have no idea why people want to rip one of the best players on our defense who is injured. And we are 4-1. Enjoy!

LOL.

I didn't realize a 4-1 record means you can't discuss issues facing the team?

It certainly doesn't, Syd, but this particular argument is silly. Is a healthy OScan a step up from Brown? Really?

Am I missing the essence of this thread, is it going over my head, brudda?
