Let's talk about Overshown

Good linebackers aren't paid nearly as high as edge so this could help signing someone 'good' and using draft pick for edge rusher / corner
If Overshown has a great year or just healthy year then cool. They could still sign a couple of guys

Why?

DeMarvion Overshown projects well as a weakside inside linebacker (WILL) in a 3-4 scheme, particularly as an athletic "run-and-hit" playmaker in space.

As a fast, hybrid defender (6'3", 229 lbs), he performed well in blitzing scenarios under Zimmer, so I'd work him into the blitz again.

But I'd assume he'd be in the middle. He's always been a WILL, bro.

Maybe because he is fragile.

He said himself in the interview that his weight was around 230 after gaining 12-13 lbs. That would put his weight around 218.
Sports reference listed his playing weight in college as 218.
The team listed his initial weight at 220 when he reported for his rookie training camp after being 229 at the combine.
Years ago Demarcus Ware stated in an interview that he would try to get to 265 prior to camp and would have difficulty staying over 240 the last month of the season.
If Ware couldn't keep his weight on through the season what makes you think Overshown can when he couldn't even keep it on between the combine and start of camp?

Yeah, but I was thinking outside is more physical. You have to set the edge and that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

He does blitz well, so I'd use him for that if on the edge or from his ILB spot.

It'll be interesting to see his role in Parker's 3-4 D and 5-man fronts. We can assume he sticks to WILL in the nickel (what he does now).

All I can say is at lease we're not discussing what Clark and Murray's roles are going to be — that's the good news.

Was watching the kid's 2024 highlights and I don't care what anyone says, Dallas could definitely use this production... What a waste 2025 was on so many levels

Overshown is ALREADY in a contract year and we still waiting for something….

That alone tells he’s nothing special

Those ACL injuries are not his fault. Any player can blow out a knee on any given play. Especially with the lack of knee braces.

To be fair, Over is an extreme athlete with good speed. 4.6 before the knees.

Almost all the D stats were in the tank last season.

He’s an ILB, but playing in a 4-2-5 or 5-2-4.
