All these outside runs on 3rd and short drives us crazy. We have a power back, run him up the middle.
We also have one of the worst centers in the league along with a very average left guard. Our center gets blown up anytime the line folks up directly over him.

WE have a hall of fame guard in Martin, running behind him is usually successful.

I thought it was an honest assessment. No QB is perfect.
The problem with the recent Prescot assessments is how all the experts are saying when the Cowboys get Prescot back they should be in great shape.......LOL! Great shape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give me a break, hell I heard one expert say that Prescot was going to take the Boys to the SB and when I heard that I almost fell out of my chair. I couldn't believe someone would make such an asinine statement like that after watching Prescot implode against Tampa. The way he struggled in the first half of yesterday's game was an eye opener, because if it hadn't been for all the Lion turnovers there's a good chance that this game could have ended in a baseball score! There is no way in hell Prescot is going to show up in meaningful games, NOWAY, NO HOW he's just not a good QB!

I am not disputing that, but normally on those short yardage plays the box is stacked it is man on man and our C and LG end up on their backs. Martin can't block his man plus the centers.

Not at all. it was a list designed to blame the QB.

Just take a look at his first take. First pass in incomplete, but then Zeke gets stuffed on 2nd down. No mention of poor running in any of it. That first pass was high, but still should have been caught. You get two hands on it, you catch the ball. Lamb or Shultz make that catch.

Then of course he stops the list after the 8th drive as we start scoring after that. Total agenda post.

Drive 1 - Bad pass by Prescott on first attempt and then a sack
I must go back and re-watch that play. If I remember correctly, Prescott threw a high pass but I thought the receiver got both hands on the ball before it hit the ground. If true, I define those types of passes as poor but not bad. Any receiver should not be forced to jump for a pass if they are (wide) open. That said, bad passes equal uncatchable balls for me. However, I will always put most of the blame on the receiver for not catching a catchable ball regardless if it is delivered great, fair or poor.

I have a great solution. Just get a first down in 2 plays. Because, I have zero confidence in our 3rd down play-calling. I would rather us be in 3rd down and 5 than 3rd down and 2. We get predictable on short yardage plays.

3rd and 2 should be a run most of the time. But Zeke and Pollard were getting stuffed. So then you have to get cute at times. The Oline get beat up this game. Nothing to do with Moore bad play calling.

I have no issues with all his dumb end arounds. Those are stupid. Maybe one or two a game tops. He does like 6 of them.

EXACTLY!!

Its a Dak hating agenda post. Pass should have been caught. Zeke then gets stuffed, no mention of that which was equally the problem. So the line poorly blocked on 2nd AND 3rd down and he making it seem like Dak was the issue. And he does that multiple times.

Drive 1 - Bad pass by Prescott on first attempt and then a sack
Drive 2 - Can't convert 3rd and 1 run
Drive 3 - Can't convert 3rd and 2 run
Drive 4 - Penalties
Drive 5 - Fumble
Drive 6 - TD
Drive 7 - Sack-great defensive play by Hutchinson
Drive 8 - Can't convert 3rd and 1 AGAIN run

This was not a bad Dak game, It was pretty poor by the offense on the 3rd down plays that cost us sustained drives. They seemed to have a letdown thinking they did not have to makeup for Rush's shortcomings
Food for thought:

Do you think that Dak almost always being in the shotgun is helping or hurting the run game? I think it’s hindering the run game significantly, especially on short yardage runs.

On drive 7 dak should have been able to throw quicker
Pollard was wide open
He doesn’t look to the flat enough under pressure instead he ducks his head (watches the rush)
This is an area rush is better. He will keep his eyes looking when he is getting hit
rofl, this is an absurd take.

That is a bad spot on field to take a sack for sure but Dak sees Hutch manned up and has no reason to believe Steele will lose instantly as he did.
TP is 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage when Dak gets contact.
Dak smartly tucked ball so as to not fumble on a sack that occured in less than 2 seconds after snap.

Detroit Lions Aidan Hutchinson's nifty spin move sparks defensive end's second sack of game (nfl.com)

The fact that Detroit came to play didn’t help. Not all teams always do.

In my semi drunken first watch what stuck out was the usual….offensive penalties that they can’t overcome.

Also Moore seems to either be really good or awful, and yesterday much closer to the latter.
Coming off the Bye, Lions were fired up and had a good game plan to get Okudah making plays as his 15 tackles showed.
Looked as he did at Grand Prairie.
Dallas defense kept after it and they eventually wilted.

All that said Dallas beat itself up early with silly pre-snap penalties and just looked out of sorts.

The offensive performance was pathetic. No other word for it.
especially the offensive line again for the third straight game played awful. this team will not go far with the way the oline is playing right now. we will beat bad teams but against good to above average teams the cowboys offense is going to be garbarge and have a hard time even getting one lousy yard.

Holy crap....you guys are ridiculous.

It was one sack that came as a surprise to Dak. He didn't see Hutch until he spun around the RT. He was looking for a play further down the field, not a dump to the RB.

You guys complain when he dumps it quick and complain when he doesn't. Make up your minds.
That one wasn't close to being a dump to back play.
TP was 7 yards off the ball same as Dak was when he was first contacted.
Dak was looking middle at the 2 guys just past the sticks but the play was dead in less than 2 seconds.
More than likely any attempt to TP would have gotten him unnecessarily blown up.

He did the smart thing and tucked the ball to not fumble.

The otherworldly special play would have been to hit Schultz over middle on an insta-read. But doing that will definitely bump chances of a turnover too.

if we cant run and convert 3rd and 1 then we have a huge problem going forward.i know the Lions had 8 in the box but even then we should be able to get 1 yard.
Run the simplest and MOST effective play on 3rd and 1, the QB sneak( COPY Philly’s QB sneak. It is close to unstoppable ). On one third and 1 Detroit was giving us the QB sneak, it should have been an automatic call, but Dak pitches to Pollard who gets stuffed after running 20 yards to the sideline!
What a dumb call, especially when Detroit was giving us the QB sneak!

Zack Martin said the Lions switched up some things during the bye week and didn't run the things they expected. He said they moved their linemen a lot less than they usually do.

Romo also pointed this out in the broadcast. He said over the bye they changed their gap scheme. It took time to adjust
