I am a huge Dallas fan and almost as big of a Pitt Panthers fan and as hard as it is for me to admit I'm almost ashamed to admit the latter after this sideline show from sunday night. I see Rob's dad posts here and I don't mean this to offend him, hell if Rob was my son I'd be proud as hell too. That being said, we definately need an upgrade at RT. Mr. P, get your kids head straight get his *** in the weight room this offseason andworking with the coaches. It'd be great to have a 6th rounder starting at RT, but only if he was worthy of wearing the "star" not if he's the only option. What's the deal with this clip from the game?

first, i don't need to tell rob anything. he has given more of himself than i think he should. he has played injured this whole season without complaint. he had serious injuries in the detroit game and no substitute was sent in, not even for one play. he has practiced when he couldn't even walk because of a high ankle sprain, then played an entire game against denver and the rest of the season. ( see j. jones if you want to know about an high ankle sprain.)
as far as his conditioning, he works extremely hard at it. he knows what needs to be done and will be at it shortly. i believe he is the only rookie linemen to start every game and play every offensive play in season and most offensive plays preseason. that has taken a huge toll along with the various injuries.
as far as being worthy, he has earned that star on his helmet. he got no special treatment and asked for none. if he wasn't the best option at the time, he would have been out of the line up. i think there are many factors in running a successful offensive and to say one player could singularly be responsible for its success or failure is wrong.
as far as that clip goes, he was extremely frustrated by his play at that point. he told me that the rams were holding him and the refs let it go. he lost his cool and allowed his frustration to show through. it has nothing to do with tucker.
He's a defrocked Chaplain...RCowboyFan said:Tsk... Tsk.. and you are the Zone Chaplain?

Just not smart or consistent enough at times. Moving him to guard won't help.
Might be an option for Pettitti, but I'd like to see what he looks like next TC after a year in the conditioning program and working on his footwork before giving up completely at OT.

Not going to quote the whole thing, but your post just really put it all in perspective. He gave it his all. That's about all you can ask for really. Just know that there are many folks out who do appreciate that about him.pittdawg said:against my better judgement i'm going to address this post.

His value is that he is athletic enough to play tackle. Sure you can move him to guard, but at that point he is just a bottom of the roster guy waiting to get churned. Which he might be anyway.
Its easy to find mediocre guards. (insert Rivera joke here)

Hey, I thought we were in your rear view mirror?zrinkill said:That was the classiest post I have ever seen ......... You had to be angry by what was said, yet you didn't show anything or lash out. No wonder Rob is such a classy guy with you as a role model, I am sure he will have a long carreer as a Cowboy.
If you remember he also had a ref help him back to the huddle after getting his bell rung. I believe we learned later he had a concussion. Or am I remembering wrong?RCowboyFan said:You know, thats what I was thinking, why there was no news about his injury after he almost couldn't go for a game? Oh, forgot to add this, I can attest to the fact, about injuries in Detroit game. I saw Petiti visibly hobbling on sideline, since I was at that game and wondered something must be really wrong. I was surprised when he came back.
That explains more of his drop off in his play later part of the season. And then having to protect a QB, that needs lot of protection, doesn't help the matters either.
I still believe he will be a totally different type of Player next season than this season. I heard Marco Riviera on Radio recently saying so too. Co-Incidently, I believe Marco Riviera not playing to his standards is due to his Back Injury never healing. Should be interesting to see how both Riviera and Rob play next season. If they improve as I hope they will, the Right should not be weakness.
