first, i don't need to tell rob anything. he has given more of himself than i think he should. he has played injured this whole season without complaint. he had serious injuries in the detroit game and no substitute was sent in, not even for one play. he has practiced when he couldn't even walk because of a high ankle sprain, then played an entire game against denver and the rest of the season. ( see j. jones if you want to know about an high ankle sprain.)
as far as his conditioning, he works extremely hard at it. he knows what needs to be done and will be at it shortly. i believe he is the only rookie linemen to start every game and play every offensive play in season and most offensive plays preseason. that has taken a huge toll along with the various injuries.
as far as being worthy, he has earned that star on his helmet. he got no special treatment and asked for none. if he wasn't the best option at the time, he would have been out of the line up. i think there are many factors in running a successful offensive and to say one player could singularly be responsible for its success or failure is wrong.
as far as that clip goes, he was extremely frustrated by his play at that point. he told me that the rams were holding him and the refs let it go. he lost his cool and allowed his frustration to show through. it has nothing to do with tucker.

Alexander said:How could he possibly attack Tucker? For what?
Looks to me like he was using Tucker as a sounding board for frustration more than anything else. Given the night he had, I am sure that isn't hard to understand.
Hostile said:If you remember he also had a ref help him back to the huddle after getting his bell rung. I believe we learned later he had a concussion. Or am I remembering wrong?
pittdawg said:i think they both were invovled. one gave him the mohawk, then the other shaved his eyebrows after rob told them he liked the haircut.
Eyebrows are overrated, lol.RCowboyFan said:
RCowboyFan said:I don't remember if it was same game. But I do remember distinctly first seeing Petiti really strugling to even walk, when he was trying to walk on sideline. Then Canty also seemed hobbled in the same game if I remember.
I didn't know at that time what the injuries were, but found out later he has ankle sprain or some kind of injury, both Rob and Chris Canty that is. I think Even Julius might have been injured in that game. Seems like Detroit game had lot of injuries, if you remember, Henry got his groin tear re-aggravated.

Not only did Rob learn a new position as I mentioned before his biggest knock in the draft guides last year was he had trouble playing hurt and his commentment to FB which made him seem soft. I think with what PittDawg has said along with what we already knew I think he has cast aside that tag as Soft. IMO
Alexander said:You speak of injuries, including Petitti's and others.
That begs the question: were the likes of Columbo, Brooks and Price so very bad that we could not even afford to give him a breather here and there?
The answer apparantly is yes.Alexander said:You speak of injuries, including Petitti's and others.

RCowboyFan said:I guess not too good or good as Petiti would be my answer. I have always believed, the OL although not good, were in undue pressure, due to the QB being what he is.
Which just made matters worse for OL, since they had to work on Pass Protection more than they would need to, if they had a QB, who would setup and get rid of the ball quickly. I remember, Aikman pointing out, that for a Mobile QB, McNabb was in the league leading category of getting sacked ( but this was about two years ago, not sure if he did the same thing in 2004 etc.). He noted that because McNabb held onto the ball too long in the pocket, when he didn't scramble. Bottom line, no matter if you are immobile like Bledsoe or Mobile like McNabb, if you don't make quick decisions and get rid of the ball quickly, you are bound to get sacked more. Heck, thats why the most Immobile QB I ever saw, Dan Marino, seldom got sacked.
