Let's try to think the way this front office operates (1st rd pick)

Usually...but Mazi only played in about 28% of the teams defensive snaps.

Yup - sign me up for WR/CB if a stud falls. Franklin, Thomas Jr, Kool Aid and Dejean are all options that could realistically slide that I'd be excited about.
Usually was an awful draft last yr. Cannot see them taking another rotational type of player again. Skill positions are in play, but also the OL.

Like they did with Mazi??
As I just said in another response, last yr was the outliner and look what it got them, a rotational player that made a little impact. I'm expected a day 1, plug and play starter this time.

Rock solid write up. Makes me wonder if they’ll have Barton over JPJ? I think JPJ is a good athlete but Barton has more length and appears to be a freak athlete on tape with how natural and easy his movement skills are.

1: Barton
2: Wilson
3: Wright

It’s needy, and I’m not a fan of the standard injured player in round 2, but decent value and I could get on board with something like this…just not how I’d do it. Plug in FA and draft the best talent.
This seems very realistic.

Nice analysis!

-You know the team likes to draft the best at the position if they can, you are right Tackle may scare them.
-What's your thoughts on the Toledo corner-Mitchell?
-We cannot expect Lamb to continue to get the majority of the targets. Need others to step up.
-My expectation hasn't changed LB, RB, NT in fa and in the draft double up at LB, RB and address Center. I'm in on Stewart in a big way!
I like the player. Think he can play in this league for sure. But he is more of an Outside Zone guy than he is a press corner. Zim tends to prefer the outside press corners.

Guys like Kool-Aid, TJ Tampa, Ennis Rakestraw those are the type of guys we'd be looking if we take CB early.

Def think we get a NT and LB or 2 of each in FA. Running back I'm not sure on. There will be some guys who are inexpensive but last year left me feeling some kind of way about how they approached RB in FA, and really the draft. Did they think too highly of Pollard and his return from injury? Probably some. RoJo was supposed to be the bigger between tackles dude but that didn't work out, and probably even had he not got injured and suspended would have been lack luster. Guys like Henry or Jacobs are a pipe dream, we won't spend that much on a RB.

Problem is, we don't have a 4th or a 5th (other than a comp) Which almost forces us to spend a 3rd on one, and I'm not a fan of that in this draft.

Wilson hasn't been injured in 2 years. I certainly would take him. He is going to make plays.
Peyton Wilson? He’s had like double digit surgeries through his career. Even if it isn’t recent that’s a blinking red light IMO.

He has played outstanding the last 2 years. He should go between picks 50 and 70.

Agree with most, but I don’t think Tyron would keep them from drafting an OT in round 1. They’d probably see it as someone who can compete with Steele for RT and be the guy that steps in when Tyron misses a few game.

WR should be a target early IMO. Franklin is turning into one of my favorite options at 24…love his game and not sure why he isn’t getting as much love as someone like Thomas. Also great options on day 2.
Dude me and you were not in agreement on the WR class last year, but I am sooo with you on Franklin. He is what everyone hoped Hyatt was. God route runner that gains easy separation. Great speed and a really tough guy to tackle for his small size. He is EXACTLY what this team needs.

It wouldn't shock me at all if they gave MM another offensive weapon. Our passing offense was pretty much just Lamb sprinkled in with flashes from Ferguson/Cooks, adding another weapon makes sense. However, the pick really needs to be for the trenches as our OL is aging and not good enough, especially their inability to run the football. I all over taking the Oregon Center, if not him Barton from Duke intrigues me as well.
It depends on what the Cowboys think of the NC tackle and Bass. You can get good interior lineman later in the draft. For once the Cowboys need to draft their board. The draft is deep at receiver, center, and tackle. I would not complain either way. Just don’t pass on a Coleman type of weapon at 24 unless JPJ is there at 24.

Steve Smith dropped an Addison comp…I’m here for it.

Hyatt might have more deep speed but it’s build up speed and he was a little unpolished. I think Franklin gives you more twitch and quickness while still giving you some deep speed. Favorite part of his scouting report is route running shows up as a positive…in an offense that was gimmick. He’s gotta get bigger and stronger to beat press but man think he’d thrive as our number 2.

Whod we disagree on last year?

Actually it was really only on Hyatt. I wasn’t a big fan. Franklin is going to be a really good #2 IMO.

I hear ya…I liked him as a fringe first rounder but you probably win that one.

In his defense, NY is a dumpster fire lol.

I'm sold on him. I can't pass on him around pick 70. I would like to have him and one of Cooper, Sweat, or Nubin.
Cooper is my guy as LB1. I think he would bring a Parsons type element just more LBr less pass rusher. Dude is a downhill monster.

OL usually gets wiped out after rd 1, if you truly want to upgrade, especially at Tackle, they are going to have to do it with their 1st pick. However, if a player falls that wasn't expected to be there, you take him!

I'm thinking a back like Zach Moss in fa and then add another on day 2 of the draft. We need to move on from Pollard no matter the price.

Bashing aside I actually love Wilson and Brooks as players…straight studs. But in a win now mode can we take that risk?

I wouldn’t.
Question is, would they? Wilson certainly fits that 2nd rd injury type guy.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if we drafted both…and Stephen telling us since our Dr did the surgery on Brooks it was a steal.
