How long to the next Super Bowl win ???????????

If Jaylon comes back this year (<25%), we can be contenders though with a very limited DL.
Without Jaylon, the O is going have to absolutely dominate the strong teams...
Games with the Packers, Vikings and Eagles should give us a great idea.

If we draft/sign well, we have a 5-6 year window.
Cheap QB, 4 probowler OL that would become bargains as the years go by and cap keep increasing.
Really tempted to try Collins for RT next year...

Sterling Shepherd was the 40th pick were are going to be about 15+ picks later than that at the rate we are going. If you want a starting quality WR they are normally all gone in the first 50 picks.
Anotonio Brown, Brandon Marshall, Allen Robinson and a lot more might disagree with you

I'm not saying that you cannot find WR later in the draft but if you want to count on a day 3 pick to contribute immediately like those guys then you are kidding yourself.

Even the guys you mentioned took a couple years to develop.

Couple ways to get a useful WR:

1. go after slot WRs to replace one of TWill or Bulter. These can be often drafted later. e.g. Cole Beasley - undrafted. Pharoh Cooper - 4th round. Edelman, ...

2. You could also draft a couple WRs in the later rounds in addition.

1st Round - OL (83%) LB (70%) TE (67%) DB (64%) QB (63%) WR (58%) RB (58%) DL (58%)
2nd Round - OL (70%) LB (55%) TE (50%) WR (49%) DB (46%) QB (27%) DL (26%) RB (25%)
3rd Round - OL (40%) TE (39%) LB (34%) DL (27%) WR (25%) DB (24%) QB (17%) RB (16%)
4th Round - DL (37%) TE (33%) OL (29%) LB (16%) WR(12%) DB (11%) RB (11%) QB (8%)
5th Round - TE (32%) DB (17%) WR (16%) OL (16%) DL (13%) RB (9%) LB (4%) QB (0%)
6th Round - TE (26%) OL (16%) DL (13%) WR (9%) DB (8%) RB (6%) LB (5%) QB (0%)
7th Round - DB (11%) OL (9%) QB (6%) WR (5%) DL (3%) LB (2%) RB (0%) TE (0%)

Nope. Martin was KMart. Williams was KDub.
Ok, I am extremely impressed with your knowledge of the 90's team and their nicknames. Let's play the nickname game. I'll throw out a nickname and you, or anyone else, that knows it says who it is. And of coarse I am not running this game so anyone can through out some names and see who gets them.

I'll start. 90's team and his nickname was "Pup"

Looked at latest mock draft.
It is a good draft for QB, RB, TE and DEs.

Mock has 3QB, 4RB, 2DT, 3S, 2OT, 1G and 2 TE in first round.
That is 17 players we dont have to have in 1st round.

Of the players that we would be interested in, there are 5DEs, 2 WRs, 4 LBs and 4 CBs.
Because the QB and RBs are rated higher, half of these DE/WR/LB/CBs could drop to late 1st.

Few things.

I don't agree that a slot guy is sufficient. We need a starting WR. If he is dynamic enough to play the slot then great but I am looking to get better at WR2.

The later you get in the draft the more critical it is to not draft for need. BPA is huge when the hit rate is sub 1 in 4 overall.

DL has the worst hit rate in the first round. I don't see the need as nearly as much at LB and CB.

DL has nice sustain in the middle rounds.

We absolutely have to draft the WR in the first two rounds if we are going to expect any immediate contribution. The hit rate is in the toilet by round three.

We will be picking at the end of the round so our pick is likely closer to the next round than it is listed above.

I cannot stand the way that they organize by round. I would much rather it seen as a gradient discrete by pick. Describing your pick as "first round" is so misleading. The difference between the top 5 and bottom 5 might as well be the moon. It is less pronounced as you move along yet the depreciation is constant from pick to subsequent pick with few exceptions. We will likely not be picking in the middle of the round.

I think the difference is that I want to get a $15M FA DE - like the Jets DE or the Patriots DE.
That would necessitate releasing probably TCrawford and not resigning Clairborne.
So you dont think CB is critical while I do.
I agree it is aggressive but I want to go after the whole thing next year.
Particularly if Jaylon recovers.
I would rather go with proven DE and 1st round CB than Clairborne and 1st round DE.

The top 100 changes so much between the end of the season and the combine and we don't know what juniors are going to declare. Given that reality, predictions when the season isn't even halfway over are next to worthless.
