It's not like it once was ,where a person could faithfully & diligently put in that amount of time in there life to an outfit or organization and be somewhat compensated after their working career with them is over,,,how old are you Lufkin?
I guess some of those single guys that are double dippers
( dudes who put in their 20 in the military/reserves& hire on with the postal service or similar) are coming out on the other side in pretty good shape financially.

I’m 52, in 3 years I can collect a reduced pension...

My only semi-regret is not finishing medical school. I was two years in and my passion lessened each week, not to mention some of the stuff I did made me pass out cold a few times.

Since then, found my wife who is a DNP(nurse practitioner) specializing in anesthesiology and surgical practice. Over, the years, she has told me on several occasions that I would have never made it due to needles, blood and stuff :lmao:

LoL, that nurse wife I had never had a problem hitting me with a hypodermic needle of Sunday medication or stitching me up when I'd make it home gashed& bleeding:lmao:
I don't know if I could stitch myself up or not,,,could you?

I have zero problems with shots, especially the dilaudid or the morphine variety :D

However, she has only given me that on rare occasions after a sports injury or something. She sure is stingy with those narcotics! She knows I love me a vicodin and bottle of wine on occasion, so she hides the stuff from me :(

The needles I am talking about is drawing blood or IV's.....I pass out every time. I could barely do it to someone else and in no way could I stitch myself up.

My life’s biggest regret was not getting a post secondary degree or a skilled trade...

The last 23 years I worked as a school custodian, good pay, pension, good benefits...

The problem: is over the course of my 23 years there I developed neuropathy in my feet ... I had to go off on short term disability, now I’m on unpaid long term disability...I’m working on getting disability benefits...

never too late to go back to school, probably available on the internet...

Oh,Man!
That's something to mourn incessantly over ( I'm truly sorry for you after hearing that)
I remember that boom/ bust of the .com time,,,DFWJC,if able at the time ,when would've you attempted to sell /move it ?
Like when it's value dropped to one million?,,,
750k,,,? Believe it or not I'm interested in your hypothetical decision on this,,,,I'd flushed two million at one time in my life, that's when I'd quit drinking for awhile and put a C.D.L. in my back pocket as I knew I'd probably clean my ears out with a 12ga. were I to go knee deep in a scotch bottle at that time.
( hey,GANG!,,,THIS thread header sez' "SOMEWHAT"
regretful mistakes:()
very brutal stuff.

yea, my mom is the same way with blood and stuff.
she tried being a clinical psychologist but had too many patients like melon that were beyond help.
so she ended up being a research psychologist making melon types run through mazes.

Speaking of rear entrances, waldoputty, if I really wanted insider info on the gang, I could just get em a few brews and a stripper. It's amazing what a nice set of breasts will get out of a man. lol

sorry melon has multiple strippers already.
and u r too late.
putty has already bribed them to utterly defeat melon in one of our early lopsided rounds.

Ha-Ha-Ha,,,o_O
The only thing I've found funnier than you today Putty, was an MRE North Korean field ration review on YouTube by a dude goes by the name of Steve Montana,,, I mean it looks exactly like some kinda crap you'd personally issue to yer' pathetic puny Putty forces were you a CHI-COM dictator, only not nearly as generous in proportions,,,

Ya,I'm certain of it,,,o_O

(I've kinda gotten a kick out watching this one dude that goes by the name of "steve1989 mre info" as that dude cracks me up, like when he smells a can of goop that was once the 'main' of like a 1954 u.s. c-ration and starts coughing & gagging, recovers somewhat and nose hits it again,,, it's HILARIOUS:lmao:
Then at the ends of his vids, he kicks it with a 50 year old lucky strike or Chesterfield cigerrette that used to come in the ration and a canteen cup of the instant coffee,,, I can remember drinking that instant coffee& a Marlboro early in the mornings while out on maneuvers, good times:lmao2:)

were you out playing with @maxdogg again?
bet the little doggie rear door was just perfect

You know if maxdogg is anything like Mcgruff the Crime Dog, don't be surprised if he bites you where the Lord split you. I just hope Ranching is there to tack a picture of it. Would be hilarious to see Putty with teeth marks on his bum.... LOL

Sorry to hear about the strippers Melon. Seems Putty had them on speed dial.
