We will still be in Nickle the majority of the time with only 2 LB’s. No idea why people are buying into this 3 LB’s on the field non-sense, it’s not possible with how the modern offenses are run.
Q was most likely in nickle with a double TE set.

Personally, I'd have Parsons a LB to start out the season and see if Sam Williams can play full-time DE.
I think I would have Lawrence and Kneeland on first down both setting the edge and forcing the run game up the middle.

Parson's needs to be used more like he was in year 1. Move him around and make it difficult for teams to figure out how to double team him.

Sam will be a liability in the run game. Most likely will continue to be more of a pass rush specialist.

Overshown will play at weak side LB
Kendricks in the middle
Clark Strong side

if Marist is what they rave him to be, ..it will be a matter of time before he replaces Clark as a starter.
Clark just doesn't make big plays, because he seemingly has average instincts and not a knack for the big play.
INTs, forced fumbles, sacks, etc. he doesn't show up much.

Clark was forced to play in the middle last year.

I like the idea of moving Parsons around but Kneeland hasn't played an NFL down yet so, I'd hold off with that move.

I do think it would wear him down, but I also think he's more effective as a weapon that you move around, creating matchup advantages. Parsons coming up over center before the snap forces protection changes. If he's just at RDE on snap after snap after snap, then it's easier for offenses to scheme the blocking against him.
I would like to know his success rate at pressures and sacks while rushing up the middle…seems he causes chaos everywhere for the o-line when he does.

I hope Zim knows this and will use that weapon if it’s as successful as it seems to me to be.

Don't expect that much from Overshown in the first half of this upcoming season, especially since he's never played a down in a reg season game AND he's also trying to work his way back from knee surgery AND to top it off the guy is coming back 15 pounds heavier on a surgical repaired knee that's not use to carrying that much weight in football games. OTA s and practices are a lot different than real time football games.

I think he will. One of the alignments Zimmer is known for is the Double A-gap blitz, where he either brings one linebacker or two up the middle, often paired with a safety or corner coming. One of the reason I think we'll play Parsons at linebacker on early downs is to bring him up to crash the gap and mess up the blocking. If Zimmer is smart about it, though, he won't just bring him into the A gap, but bounce him all along the line on those early downs. Run blitzes can be just as effective as pass blitzes ... but often what Zimmer (and other coaches) will do is not actually blitz by dropping a lineman when a linebacker blitzes. Confuses the blocking. Parsons rushing won't confuse the blocking because everyone is going to be expecting that. Where he rushes from will be the chess match.

Wow!

Sorry, other linebackers on the team. Perhaps you thought the team would adopt the strange concept of "competition". You might then have an opportunity, during training camp and three preseason games, to earn a starting position. Think again.

Apparently these three guys had the best OTA's in NFL history.

Yeah, Parson's may just play in front of Damone Clark on the strong side.
