Lions. They have a hc w power to hire and fire. Plus they can and do hire a new gm when they don’t win. And everyone in their org doesn’t report to the owner (ie, no accountability to the hc).
They've won so many playoff games with that formula !!!!!

Except older fans like me remember when we were the gold standard of winning. I have not lowered the bar of my expectations for my team. Bottom line playoff results that get us to an nfc championship game. After waiting almost 30 years, I don’t think that’s too much to ask.
Enjoy the ride!

No they’re not. We havent seen foundational changes in over 30 years. As long as a Jones owns the team, winning will always finish behind letting Jerry play with his toy train pretending to be a football guy.
Jerry is a football guy. They are winning.

Which franchise gets to NFC Conference game first this Century: Lions or Cowboys?

With the Cowboys resembling more like the Lions than the once dominant franchise, the Lions had a nice 2023 draft.

Cowboys 2nd rd draft picks have been bad the past decade and can't seem to find OL talent unless they use a 1st rd pick. When a franchise relies more on the draft to fill holes than free agency, you see why the Cowboys haven't seen a NFC Conference finals in THREE DECADES.
Cowboys. No doubt.

Nothing you said hides the fact that even with how poor the playoffs have been for the Cowboys over the last 25 years. They are still light years better then the Detroit Lions franchise.

Well it might indicate that some fans have lowered their expectations significantly to call a wild card win, a successful season. That might be good enough for the Lions fans but not Cowboys fans. Again, it’s been a historically bad 28 seasons with regards to playoff success for the Cowboys. But to each their own, we’re all fans.

Funniest post this year!! That’s hilarious.

You might want to research Jerry a little more since he’s the genius that dedicated the 2008 draft to only drafting players to help on special teams (an NFL first). He also was the brain surgeon who drafted a “cold weather” kicker specialist. And Jerry with his “football” brain became the first owner in sports history to insist the new stadium be built facing east/west. Yeah, I don’t think Jerry is qualified for any position in a football org if he has to mk football decisions. He’s kept us out of the NFC championship game for almost thirty years so your bar is low for who qualifies as a (cough) “football guy”.

You should do some research.

This time it makes a difference in a positive manner. They have hit a big home run with this team.
No question the roster is better but a home run means we play in the nfc championship game this year. If we don’t, it’s business as usual.

Quietly, Goff has gotten better and better. I think he's in for a big year, and don't forget, he has started for a Super Bowl team when he just came into the league.

They're going to win their division unless they get throttled with injuries

Eagles, 49ers, Lions, and Cowboys. Those are the NFC teams that matter, asking with possibly the Seahawks and Giants.

The Lions have one of the worst histories in the NFL. They have a history of ineptitude. I could care less what Mike Ditka says. Matt Stafford leaves Detroit where he couldn’t even win a playoff game and immediately wins a Super Bowl with the Rams. Lol The greatest player in the history of the Lions franchise quit on them. Even Calvin Johnson retired prematurely because he probably got tired of losing in Detroit. You’re biased, you’re a Lions fan and are pulling for them. Philly had some good teams years ago and had been to a couple of Super Bowls. The Lions had a pretty good team last year but I don’t believe in them or Jared Goff.
You mean you COULDN'T care less KJJ.....think about it brah. But yeah, you're wrong in your post too.

I meant exactly what I said, both words are used. My post was right and if you don’t agree with it that’s your problem. Now run along to your Detroit Lions fan board.

Detroit has been concentrating on building quality offensive and defensive lines the last few years. If an NFL team wants to turn its fortunes around that’s the best way to start.

The Lions were 9-8 last season and missed the playoffs. I feel sorry for anyone that’s a fan of that team.

Id say the Lions. NFL makes more money off Dallas Drama than anything else. They would fix the games to keep the profits coming in.
