Agreed, and I think that they give us a chance to see animals that we otherwise wouldn't see. Plus, they're protected from predators, so there's that too.

Steve Irwin (crocodile hunter) had no problem with zoos. That is true...I have been fortunate to see the Giant Panda (Toronto and SanDiego Zoos)...never would have seen a panda otherwise.

That was actually a good kill. The meat went to the locals and that giraffe was to old to breed and was killing the younger males. He had to go.

OK...Thank you for clarifying. Just so you know I am not opposed to subsistence hunting, just trophy hunting. I realize the world is full of predators ... and we are one of them.

I don't think anyone really cares about deer, rabbit, small game, fish, etc liscenced or not. It is the poachers cutting off a rhino horn leaving it to die or those who kill gorillas, elephants and lions to sell meat on the black market that are despicable. Those are unsustainable populations that will go extinct real soon. Some already have in the last few decades.....Northern White Rhino being one.

Again, I do not care if you go poach deer or whatever because they are in abundance. So, have at it and send me some venison!
* I know that, bro! But,the FEUDIAN in me kinda' reared up roared half way thru page #1*

I can't recall where I'd stumbled across a very intriguing article in cyberspace, but it was about an international culinary chef specializing in exotic & endangered game species, servicing some pretty high profile& well known Hollywood types, he'd went into details on where& how he'd obtain his ingredients, the authorities were hot after him& he'd managed to stay one step ahead of them,,,I think his last known A.O. was in New Mexico before he had to light-out and go underground,,, oh,ya!,,,dude was a Chinaman,TOO!o_O
