His 40 time was bad as well wasnt it?

Yeah, he did not time well, which was a big reason why many were against drafting him but if you watched him, you simply could not deny his production. Also, a lot of the focus was on his 40 and not nearly as much on his 10 and his short area quickness. But when you have a guy from a major D1A program who puts up the numbers Suggs did, you can't discount that. Same thing happened with Ray Rice when he was coming out. He ran slow times. Heck, the Cowboys, of all teams should understand this. Emmitt Smith ran slow times and that's why he was there for us. Michael Irving ran slow times in comparison to some of the other bigtime WRs in his draft and he slid to us as well.

Suggs and Ware could have been better than Taylor and Banks

Together, maybe. Hard to know. If you get Suggs, you probably don't have the chance to draft DWare so it's hard to know what the future holds in that regard.

Another thing to consider guys is that in a trade down it may actually be to our favor to draft a guy even if we have a 2nd round grade on him. That is because 1st round picks all have a 5th year option on their contracts so you can basically get a free season before deciding to offer a second contract or not.

Kinda like what they did with Fredrick last year.

I still think they like Donald not saying they will go up after him.
Easley will be a good fit.

I agree. There are really only a few top notch DTs. There are a hand full of guys who are equal talent DEs who will be available in the 2nd. Give me Easley at #30 and the best DE at #47.

To be honest Easly might be the best DE... seriously.

West is one of my pet cats. Had him in my very first Mock Draft. I love the guy.

I went and looked at him after your post and I really liked what I saw. I saw a kid that doesn't have break away speed (gets run down from behind against lesser competition) but he has other tools to make the most of what's there. He has really good vision and uses his blocks well. He has patience to wait for the play to develop and then is quick thru the hole. He needs to get stronger because he tries to play with power when the hole isn't there but the power to move piles isn't there. Most importantly, he does something that Demarco Murray constantly gets tagged for: he runs to daylight.

No way on lawerence in the 1st. If we trade back i'm hoping for Shazier. I'm not a big fan of lawerence. He is all potential and can easily bust.

I would take Critchton and Martin in the 2nd or 3rd over Ealy in the 1st.

:D no I really meant EASLY from Florida. I know he is listed as a DT but he played a lot on the outside and I'm telling you he is legit from there too. I reeeeaaaallly do not like Ealy and I don't get the love for Crichton either. He's meh (shoulder shrug) to me. I didn't see someone with good speed or power on a consistent basis. He made some plays true but not enough to make my socks go up and down. Hageman on the other hand... you can just see glimpses of what he can be IF the light ever comes on for him. I would like to see us drop back and pick up an extra 2nd. If we could get Hageman, Easly, Justin Ellis, Ken Bishop in any matter, I would party for a week :D

I get the Suggs comparisons to a point. And think Lawrence is a decent prospect. Just not in the 1st round and probably not at #47. Suggs had like 20-some sacks his last year in college. He was ridiculously productive. Lawrence didn't have Suggs production. Suggs is also a little bigger than Lawrence and Suggs did run much better at his pro day than he did at the combine.

I think it's Donald early or trade back, assuming willing trade partners.

DE or DT? I know he moved around the line a lot in Florida, but he'd most likely be a 3-tech in our defense. I can see them moving him around a lot though.

Easly is not falling any where near #47.
Sorry to bust your bubbles folks.

I'd be happy with Shazier and Easley with our first two picks. Those guys are both 1st round talents. There are a lot of guys who I don't consider 1st round talents like Ealy, Attachou, Lawrence, Juwan James, Bitonio, Tuitt, Jimmy Ward, Joyner, Jernigan.

I know he is a DT but I truly believe he is the best DE not named Clowney... not saying he will actually be there but I'm just saying.

Nothing wrong with versatility. We need pass rushers regardless of position. Melton is the starting 3-tech, so Easley would get his snaps by filling in for Melton, playing the 1-tech in nickel situations, and if he can play a little DE too, that'll be great.

I agree. I would be fine with Shazier at 16 if you can't trade back. I think he is a day one starting WOLB in this defense and is an upgrade over carter. Put carter at SOLB to compete with Holloman and Wilber. Also Carter can be back up MLB.

I don't like Lawrence either, at least not with our first... if the case is trading down, i prefer Shazier or even Jernigan who should be falling after his "incident"; take Kareem Martin instead in later rounds, he looks more like a DE to me.

Not a fan of ford or Lawrence in rd 1
