I doubt Chubb plays week 1.

He's coming back from a significant injury.
All the reports I've read are still not counting him out for week 1.

Even without Chubb the Browns were the 6th ranked rushing offense last year.

Browns' Nick Chubb has 'a little way to go' in rehab process

July 29

Chubb was seen Friday running full-speed sprints and doing light agility work in a post-practice workout -- eight months removed from his second procedure.

"We're really happy to see where he is as we enter camp and we look forward to him to continue to improve the health of the knee," Berry said.

The Browns placed Chubb, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, on the active/physically unable to perform list to start training camp and haven't given a definite timeline for his return.

While the team expects Chubb to play in 2024, Berry said they would deal with the return timeline "day by day."

Even if he plays, how close will he be to pre injury level?

I still believe that the LB Corp isn't as strong as we need in terms of experience

Just one injury to Overshown or Kendricks changes the entire complexion.....it almost a must that Liufau can hit the ground running.

The Browns and Chubb will be their first test
Chubb won’t be playing Week 1 but Jerome Ford is no slouch.

Good news on DC and DO also. LB group could be a strength this season. They’ll have to be because DL is thin as tissue.
honestly if you have a GOOD NT with all thse LBs and Rush ends with Tank and Parsons just switch to 3-4 an rotate to a 4-3 on nickel and Dime

Lol, this team is looking like they have a chance at being one of the best in the league provided they don't have too many injuries early. It's going to be difficult to set the 53 man roster. The weak spot is the dtackle position.
4 years in a row of saying this.

Sooner or later maybe you’ll be right.

There is no reason to believe they won't. Everything is sounding very very good so far in camp.
IN CAMP does not mean in the season
you seem to not be able to remember all the camp champions that became season chumps
Nothing means much of anything until regular season games
you can claim all you want but there are no facts to back it up until the season

I've been a fan since Day 1 (draft).
You can't go wrong with a Samoan playing on defense.
Dude will be a star!

Parsons is the only LB that has a PFF over 73......it's hard for me to agree that the LB core is "pretty high"

What I will say is that there is at least "HOPE " that Overshown and Liufau can develop into great players.

I really hope so but I have to see it first
At least we are going to have actual LB'ers this year instead of clearly not qualified Safeties trying to play the position... hopefully Zimmer's defense will be better at run stopping. It looks better from all the video I've seen but obviously we won't know until it all matters against the Browns. Will they have Chubb when we play? I thought he was recovering from a knee.

Playing fast was not Liufau's issue at Notre Dame. He can play like he's shot out of a cannon at times. His problem is consistently making tackles. His technique leaves a lot to be desired there, and we won't know if he's made improvement there until games are played.

They also played him all over the place like safety or nickel. So that may have never let him settle down in his spot at LB.

IN CAMP does not mean in the season
Oh ok. Thanks for clearing that up.

I guess you would prefer all the camp reports be awful saying the guys are running the wrong way and things like that.

Look, everyone is perfectly aware what IN CAMP means. The bottom line is if guys are struggling, that is what the reports are. If they are looking good, that's what the reports are. The reports from those specific players have been positive since the draft. Very consistent. For both Guyton and Liufau. They might be rookies. They might be NFL inexperienced. But that does NOT mean they can't play in this league and play very well.

Whoever plays LB will be busy this season.

Will be great if he pans out. Zimmer’s defenses usually do play well from that position group.
Zimmer system depends on smart LB’s. As well as athletic. I’m kinda excited about the LB group and they have a good vet with lots of experience in this system to help teach them.
Now we need a couple guys on dline to way exceed expectations
