LOL! Ed Werder ON ESPN said Jerry Ripped Team in the locker Room...

What other choices were there Bach tell me who was available that would get complete control and have made us a great team. Hell name the coach that would have just made us great

The only way to get control is for Jerry to allow them to have control. Any coach should have complete control over his own staff.

You have google, go look at all the coaches that were hired the last two years. You will see for yourself that there were more options that just Wade or Norv. We even interviewed other candidates besides Wade or Norv.

I won't disagree with that, that is true partly.

But I do remember rhetoric coming from the players and the owner about having a coach with a softer approach would be better for the team. Remember players talking crap about Parcells in the '07 training camp. It worked for about 3/4 of one season, so in all it didn't work if you want to win the Superbowl. They wanted a philosophical coaching change as Jerry would put it.

I remember after the hire them saying it was nice to be treated like men etc. Not before someone was hired. But when the hire was made nobody foresaw what was going to happen in Oct 2008

I can speculate and you can counter speculate, but the fact is, Wade and Norv weren't the only two choices like you suggest.

But several mentioned concerns about Jerry reverting back to his former ways and they were shouted down by the likes of you and the other apologists on here. Now you want to act like Wade was the correct choice at the time and no one could've forseen this, just because you didn't.

Not to defend Jerry, but Bill bolted rather late...giving Jerry little time to hire a coach in time to scout the draft, FA, etc. Neither Ron Rivera, Jim Caldwell, nor Mike Singletary would have cut it b/c they have no HC experience, and the window to start the scouting was right around the corner.

Like I said too-this is what you get for hiring Parcells-short term, he gets your team playing competitive. Long-term, there's NONE-b/c he will bolt anytime he feels like it...just like he did in NY and NE.

Wade WAS the correct choice at the time. and no nobody could see Oct 2008 in Feb 2007

Dallas interviewed Sparano, Bowles and some other Parcells' assistants other than Garrett, Norv and Wade. Was Singletary interviewed? Or Rivera?

Not sure, but name any coaches that were available that would have been a better choice over Wade Phillips AT THE TIME.

I think Jerry interviewed about 9 other candidates.

Honestly and some will think I'm a fool but that's OK. When Jerry hired Garrett to be OC before the HC I really thought Jerry should've went ahead and made him HC. I know Garrett doesn't look too good at the moment but I am still not ready to get rid of him yet, I still have hope in him to get this offense turned around. He's almost single-handedly made this offense fun to watch for the first time since the triplets and he and Romo seem to have a good relationship. I would've been patient with him learning on the job. I also think he would be tougher on the players and not make excuses for them like Wade does. At the same time I don't think he'd alienate them as Parcells did either.

thats funny cause I thought Tony sporano was here.

He is a highly thought of coach around the league and he was right here. he had pasqualoni, bowles, rodgers all here to run the defense.

And with sporano as head coach garrett could have still run the offense.

I agree with this, its time for Jason to take over

No Wade wasn't the right choice. The right choice wouldn't have his team imploding on him within a year and a half.

You mean the same Sporano coached team that let the terrible Texans and Ravens offenses to go roughshod all over them the last 2 weeks?

The guys talking crap were the constant underachievers (Spears and JuJo) who had to make excuses for their poor performance. The leaders of this team like Romo and Ware hated to see BP go and credited him with their development.

But either way, we've seen this swing from a hard nose HC to a smooth and loose guy in 94. It didn't work then and it hasn't worked now. The wheels were bound to come off. You know the old saying; those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.......
