Really?

I mean he's a great talent and just so happens to fill a huge need for us.

I think you have to at least consider it man..

I like Earl Thomas too, but not necessarily at #12...however if Eric Berry isn't there (and he shouldn't be) and you don't want to risk Thomas getting taken, you take him at #12 and don't look back.

One GM's reach is another GM's value pick.

how about Barber and Barbie, and Spears, all of who are Parcells hand picked :starspin

Parcells loves to bring in his own guys. Bledsoe, Testaverde, Keyshawn Johnson, Terry Glenn, Aaron Glenn, [strike]Anthony Henry[/strike] to name a few.

Start to watch the wire for rumbles about Ronnie Brown -> San Diego.

It's possible we could look to acquire #12. Rolando McClain, anyone?
I could think of 10 other guys at 12 rather than a MLB.

Ah, I dont know. I personally don't think it's a reach. Look at the teams after that 12th pick. Niners have 2 picks at 13 and 17 and need huge help at S. They will swoop him guarenteed. If they really want Earl they may have to reach a bit. The good thing is it won't be such a reach since Cowboys players would be involved and those players are very replaceable through the draft.

I think everyone who doubts it are forgetting who Bill Parcells is and how much value he places on "his" players.

Really? McClain is an animal. He's like a strong safety playing MLB. I haven't seen a MLB with his lateral speed in a long time. He was beating speed RBs to the corner in the SEC this year. Insanity.

The Niners need a QB and some help on the OL more than S, but I could see them making a move. Their defensive backfield is pretty poor. I think they'd take Joe Haden first, though. They have nobody opposite Nate Clements and he made it a habit of getting roasted the last couple of seasons, for the most part.

Parcells LOVES his guys. The most damning evidence is his drafting of Bobby Carpenter, if not for all the other guys I listed that he brought in to assemble the 1992 AFC Pro Bowl team in Dallas.

Don't know why people assume that Parcells would pay a high price for any player on the Dallas roster that could be available.

The Fasano/Ayodele is a good example.

are you crazy? you wouldnt do that deal?

No, I wouldn't trade three quality performers for a question mark. Who's replacing those guys if you do?

Yeah, gotta say that trade would be pretty stupid.

Why do you say that?

Because at 12 they can draft any position they wanted. Would they entertain offers if a team wanted to trade up, certainly. But to say they are looking to trade down is a strecth. Also, no way is parcells tipping his hand about anything. These guys aren't saying anything in regards to the draft.

if we move up to #12 it better be for McClain. than we can try and snag Burnett in the 2nd.

You guys are crazy. At rb, Felix and Choice can handle the load, problem solved at RB. With the 12th pick you can take ET or Dez Bryant. At 27 you can take Golden Tate, Nate Allen, Odrick, or move down and take Alualu. None of those 3 guys are irreplaceable to Say the least, 2 of the 3 are backup players (assuming Felix starts this yr) And if you think spears can't be replaced by Bowen and hatcher I don't know what to tell you. I pull that trigger every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

I haven't seen anybody mention Marty B as trade bait in this thread. What other players would you have to add in to get the 12 pick and still keep 27?

Barber is expendable, but his contract is an albatross as far as trade bait goes.

If you trade up to #12 odds are you won't have a 2nd round pick.

Why does everyone want to keep 27? Why not just move up from 27? It is a lot cheaper to do so.

The Cowboys have been heavily scouting RBs.

They also like McCluster, a RB/WR hybrid.
