We had no momentum entering the game, Garrett saw to that by mailing in the season finale. We couldn't stop Rodgers on the Packers first three possessions, all led to TD's, that's what was rocking us. I don't live in the world of excuses.

What do you mean he saw to it? What did you want him to do in a meaningless game against the Eagirls?

We couldn't stop Aaron Rodgers.........NO ONE CAN. The Giants have one oft he best defenses in the league and couldn't stop him.

The refs officiated poorly. You want to be a realist and not looked at as "homer". I get it. Usually i'd play that same role too. But I watched the game from beginning to end and while it was officiated poorly on BOTH sides......it seemed like the Cowboys were hit each and every time they tried to gain momentum.

Anything that impedes your narrative that Garrett somehow lost us the game...anything that exposes how silly and absurd that is...you are intent to attack.

It was an absurd call. The wrong call. And it impacted the game hugely. You have an agenda that blinds you.

This is exaggerated. The "take down" was not really much of anything, the guy did not have much of an impact on Irving and his arms slid right off of him. Irving went down when he was pancaked by another guy in front of him. Video is much better evidence than a still photo.

The Cowboys would've been called for holding if they did that.

I appreciate the link but it doesn't show the time when the infraction would have occurred.

  1. Washington Commanders at 12:51 (2nd)
  2. 1-10-WAS 10(12:51) 46-A.Morris right end to WAS 13 for 3 yards (52-J.Durant).
  3. 2-7-WAS 13(12:08) 16-C.McCoy pass deep middle to 11-D.Jackson to DAL 38 for 49 yards (26-S.Moore). Pass complete on a "post pattern."
  4. 1-10-DAL 38(11:16) 46-A.Morris left end to DAL 33 for 5 yards (52-J.Durant).
  5. 2-5-DAL 33(10:33) 16-C.McCoy pass incomplete short right to 84-N.Paul. PENALTY on WAS-82-L.Paulsen, Unsportsmanlike Conduct, 15 yards, enforced at DAL 33 - No Play.
  6. 2-20-DAL 48(10:24) (Shotgun) 16-C.McCoy pass short left to 29-R.Helu to DAL 41 for 7 yards (52-J.Durant).
  7. 3-13-DAL 41(9:41) (Shotgun) 16-C.McCoy sacked at DAL 49 for -8 yards (69-H.Melton).
  8. 4-21-DAL 49(9:10) (Punt formation) 5-T.Way punts 49 yards to end zone, Center-57-N.Sundberg, Touchback.
For the video clip I posted, you want 10:10/39:27

Yep.

The refs were a distant 2nd for the reasons we lost. Rodgers being number 1. But they still played their part.

1 of their 2 penalties was from a false start. I think the other was a mugging of Dez Bryant.

Now there's this coming out.

They must have took a whole lot of heat in the last hour and are in *** covering mode.

Those Italians are at it again... whoever said that all the refs are Italian was on to something lol

And some people just use the ostrich defense and stick their head in the sand and think all is peaches and cream. With your reasoning, why even have instant replay during the game since everything evens out and flow of the game along with time and play calls are irrelevant depending on the score. If you are going to have instant replay to correct BAD or WRONG calls why not fix them DURING the game and not wait 4 days after the game and apologize? Strategy and play calling are dependent on the score at the time and result in momentum gained or lost.

You would have to be a fool if you think Dallas would not have either gained momentum or stopped GB momentum if they scored a TD at that particular time in the game. But hey, this is America, and you have a right to be wrong.

My reasoning had this game all figured out a couple of weeks before we played it. You would have to be a fool to think that call cost us the football game. We have an average defense that can't stop an elite QB in the playoffs. We stopped the Packers momentum in the second half and had all the momentum on our side after tying the game but our defense couldn't help itself but to give up just enough yards with 12 seconds to play in regulation to put their kicker in a position to beat us with a FG. Our D chokes like no other. I said all week pressuring Rodgers isn't enough, you have to get him on the ground. The only one's who are wrong are FANS like you. Some of you seem to be on a mission to end up wrong.

Yeah I'm actually the guy who clarified that it happened in that Skins game. The replay doesn't show the huddle though.

I thought the penalty where Heath caught a interception was iffy as well. It didn't look catchable but even if it was....how was that not a holding penalty but a pass interference?

But there's no guarantees either way. And while it may be true that the defense wouldn't have stopped Green Bay from scoring, that penalty took away the opportunity for points. That's the argument.

My point is we overcame it and tied the game late and couldn't stop Rodgers with the game on the line. No one was making a big a deal about that penalty until the NFL confirmed it was a bad call, now all of a sudden some think it cost us the game. lol It gave some just the excuse they were looking for.

We overcame that call to come back and tie the game and our defense couldn't make a stop. Blame the spike and our defense not being able to make a critical stop.

Points off the board was huge. That was going to be sure 3 points. Probably even 7. Quit acting like momentum and instances like that aren't huge. We should not have had to be making that huge of a comeback to begin with if this is not called. Don't be obtuse.

We should have had 10 points on our 1st 2 drives, which would have been huge. Packers never had to deal with any penalties like this that derailed their drives. Or a clear takedown of Witten in the endzone that was not called. Would have placed the ball at the 2. That's more missed points.

If you can't see the difference that particular play had on that drive then okay. But the team lost by three points. The "ifs and buts" shouldnt be applied only one way. Dallas couldn't stop Green Bay at that point. And Green Bay couldn't stop Dallas as the game wore on. Three points would have been huge.

I wanted him to do what he did in 2014 in a meaningless game against Washington and go out and play to win so we could have momentum entering the playoffs. He could have done the same thing by playing our starters a half but NO he had to follow a plan that failed miserably for us in 07. Garrett talked about wanting to maintain momentum, then turned around and cost us momentum by laying down like a bunch of dogs allowing Philly to end their season on a positive note and laugh at us. It was a dumb move and it didn't pay off.

Almost 40 years ago the Cowboys received a letter apologizing for a BS pass interference call on Benny Barnes vs Lynn Swann in the second half of SB XIII. The call led to a Steelers touchdown in a game Dallas lost 35-31.

Thanks again, NFL.
