Lombardi: NFL admits call against Butler was wrong

They didn't overcome the loss of possession. They just kept playing. Those possible three points helps get the game to overtime imo.

When you come back from a deficit to tie a game late, you overcame it. The game was left up to our D to make a stop and give our offense one last opportunity in regulation or in OT and they choked. It was going to come down to that anyway regardless of that penalty. Our defense can't stop Aaron Rodgers and I said so prior to the game.

A lot of times you can draw a penalty due to technique and we could have handled that huddle differently.

Nobody scored on 7 posessions.

Dallas scored on 6, GB on 6 (including the game winner). GB did have an extra posession, though.

Maybe so. That would make it 6/9 for cowboys. I do know that there were only 3 stops on the Cowboys. We punted twice, and had 1 turnover.

Each possession was solid gold...the loss of even one absolutely swings the game.

Well we were what at about the 25 yard line or so, so im guessing at least a field goal. It was about a 45 yard swing and momentum killer. Agreed about defense though, I knew all year long our pass rush and coverage in the secondary were below average. And sadly it as well as horrible calls and bad clock management cost us big time

I usually support the refs, but how the heck do you make that call?
And if the call was wrong, just like we have instant replay, we need to have an official with immediate and instant access to the rule book to overturn ref calls that violate the rules.
This is not a judgment call. This is a rules call.
Rules calls can be appealed (at least in baseball they can); judgment calls cannot.
This was a RULES call that should have been challengeable.

Was a 22 yard pass to their 15. No guarantee for points but momentum is impossible to measure. We could have gone up 10-7, and the changes a lot. Offensive and defensive calls... energy etc.

We knew we had a suspect defense. But the way we were winning was by scoring points, keeping the ball and keeping our defense off the field.
The game plan should have been play keep away and score and keep the ball out of Rodgers' hands.
This penalty kept us from doing that. I believe it's a totally different game if this bogus penalty isn't called.

The reasoning the NFL is positing is self- serving garbage. If you're tweeting anything tell Lombardi to keep it up.

True. He shouldn't. But this is the social media age. Reporters are supposed to "engage" their audience. That's one of the reasons I left the business.

yep, we were going in at worst down 7-6 and at best up 10-7 with momentum.

There's no guarantees would have scored a TD and after we punted the Packers proceeded to do what they did on their first three drives and score a TD. We couldn't stop them.

Reporters' number one goal should be confirming and conveying irrefutable information. Lombardi placed himself within a virtual He Said/She Said situation. Not surprising in my book.
