You have got to be ####### kidding me! That call essentially took 7 pointso off the board.
Oh, they'll have a luncheon, talk about it, then shake hands and see ya next year...............That's the issue. There is none. These are men doing this on their spare time. Most are esteemed professionals in another industry doing very well for themselves. Being reprimanded means zilch to them.
It wasn't even just this call. It's how some of these blatant holds by GB were allowed. Especially Irving being tackled to the ground on the last play before the game winning FG. Right in front of the official behind the play whose specifically looking for holding. Allowing the defender to tackle Witten in the endzone right in front of the ref. But yet on our side, we got got called for a suspect holding call where the defender sold it and any ticky tack contact, we got the defensive penalty. Especially on that Heath interception where Rodgers and the receiver were not on the same page. He airmails it 10 yards over his head and Heath is there. This is when it was 31-31. You could lip read Garrett saying "are you f'ing kidding me".
I'm sick of these refs.
No team is good enough to overcome a call that ( A) hasn't been used since 1984
so it wasn't a 15 yard penalty... should it have been a no call? or 5 yards? if it was supposed to be a no call then yes, it's essentially a 37 yard penalty because Williams caught a pass around the 10 yard line. if it was a 5 yard penalty we would've had the ball on around the 35.
I made this observation (or theory rather) shortly after the game was over... to me, calling a penalty as obscure as this in a situation where it wasn't even warranted in the first place absolutely reeks of premeditation.... just my opinion though. How does this even happen? They had to be looking for it so did McCarthy say something pregame? Mike pereria?
Think it started with a Broddaus comment on Monday's episode of Cowboys Break.I don't know how that claim got started, but it's not true. It was called against the Commanders in a game against us in 2014. The Commanders tried to substitute a player late, which is what the rule is intended to prevent -- not a simple substitution early in the play clock like the one called against us.
**** you Tony, **** you officiating, **** you NFL, **** you Goodell.
Good thing for that crew that no crime bosses had money riding on that game...
You've always been on point with... well... everything really, so I trust that you're right. I wonder where the 30+ years thing came from then. Probably some tweet from a high-profile person.I don't know how that claim got started, but it's not true. It was called against the Commanders in a game against us in 2014. The Commanders tried to substitute a player late, which is what the rule is intended to prevent -- not a simple substitution early in the play clock like the one called against us.
LOL. The NFL should be ticked off too, they lost a crap load of money with Dallas not getting to the SB. They probably just don't want Jerry to make anymore merchandising money since they can't touch that. You underestimate the NFL Mafia
You are right, but it gives me another reason to pop a top.If some want to blame that penalty on the loss go ahead, now you'll have something else to go along with the Dez non catch from the 2014 playoffs to keep banging your heads over. Our defense lost us this game not a penalty.
