We need a real QB. Bill is right they don't grow on trees. You have to draft them early in the draft. If that means giving up a couple of 1st Rd picks to move up then you do it.

I say play Rome the rest of the year and see how it goes. If its obvious he isn't a future good starter then we should be around .500 or under. We trade whatever it takes to move up and draft Brady Quinn.

It could actually work out for us because some of the bad teams this year like Cleve, TX, AZ have their QBs for the future.

Not even close to being in the Quinn sweepstakes. We are in the Romo sweepstakes and at least we will find out this year if he has a chance to be the future of this team at QB.

Yeah, that is a thought. WE need to find out about Romo NOW. This season.

Actually, if we pulled a Ditka we might get Quinn. Problem is that we might have more holes then we can fill in FA.

I dont really see how we get involved with Quinn? It would be too expensive of a deal for us.....draft picks.....etc.

If the O-Line is not addressed, in the draft it would be a travesty. Actually it already has been. With the current line that we have, and the current offensive line coaching we are getting. I'd rather draft a guy like Troy Smith who can escape some of the pressure that is coming thru untouched at the current time. I really wish that Parcells had let Payton take Sparano when he wanted him.

Exactly. We'll be picking around 20 or so.

Actually we need both.

Offensive Line Sweepstakes...

We arent going to get Brady Quinn anyway. He wouldnt be my first choice either.

Besides, if we did get "the original poster's choice", it would be what?? Week 2 or 3 before people would be calling Quinn a bust.

he isnt a NFL QB. I watched all the Notre Dame games and the Oline for Notre Dame is down right awful. Quinn is always under pressure. I believe this past weekend he was sacked 5 times & knocked down 12 times. Quinn knows how to move in the pocket and create plays out of nothing.

We give a team this years 1st & 2nd and the following years 1st and 4th.

Or whatever it takes. Trade away picks and a good player. You build your Offense with a QB and then a Oline.

I'd love to get in the Troy Smith sweepstakes. I'm a big OSU fan and I've watched this guy mature as a passer and he's a definite leader. And accurate. Bonus with his mobility. But he's not and doesn't want to be, a Michael Vick.

I really don't know who else is out there college QB wise, I must admit. Not impressed with Quinn. But again, if somehow we could get this guy, I'd be very happy.

How do you figure. I never call people a bust and the 1st time I did was with Carp. Make all the excuses you want but we have a 1st Rd pick that doesnt even get dressed for games. He might end up being a ok player but that isnt what you want from a 1st rd pick.

we have no shot at quinn. and we will not trade a couple of 1st round picks to move up and get him.
we should play romo the rest of the season, win loose or draw and see what he has.he will throw some ints, thats part of the learning process. but by the last few games you need to see less mental mistakes and i think we will. if romo is not the answer we are really in trouble because don't think any qb can have a lot of success behind this oline. so if we have to get a qb that means not fixing the oline. gonna be hard to get a rt and a qb in the same draft with starting ability

Troy is a good to great College QB...he is not an NFL starting QB.

He would be a project in the NFL and even then probably only wind up being a backup.

If we took Troy Smith with a first round pick I would get on a plane and smack Jerry Jones.

We need to draft O-Line...if this season has not shown people that I don't know what will.

:hammer:

I called for it last year. Even though I must admit, I dont know how alot of those OLineman have panned out in their Rookie Season.

But realistically, if we do go Oline in the draft our record of drafting them is not all that great (even day 1 picks) and if we do get a good one we will have to expect some growing pains.
