i could be happy with this. not seen a "whole" lot of him but i do like what i've seen so far. what's the word on him cause i heard he was a heisman candidate/contender but he's not in kipers latest top25.

Forget Kiper. Trust me. This guy is poised, confident, strong, very accurate, and has earned the trust of his coach to do things like pass on a down when the percentages say the run is the safe move.

He has definitely matured as a passer and while very mobile and a good runner, definitely has a pass first mentality, always looking down the field while moving in the pocket.

I'd love if we could get him.

Troy is a good to great College QB...he is not an NFL starting QB.

He would be a project in the NFL and even then probably only wind up being a backup.
Couldn't agree more.

I may be the only one that feels this way, but I don't like Quinn that much. He doesn't look like a top of the first round kind of guy to me.

He reminds me of Joey Harrington.

Offensive Line Sweepstakes...

We arent going to get Brady Quinn anyway. He wouldnt be my first choice either.

Besides, if we did get "the original poster's choice", it would be what?? Week 2 or 3 before people would be calling Quinn a bust.

- Mike G.
If we had the top pick, he'd be my 1st choice easily.

Specifically, why do you say this?

I'm waiting on Brain's reply... Why do you say this? I've watched both Quinn and Smith and I haven't seen anything from Quinn that puts him ahead of Smith. In my eyes, anyway.

If we took Troy Smith with a first round pick I would get on a plane and smack Jerry Jones.

We need to draft O-Line...if this season has not shown people that I don't know what will.

thanks bp. probably a reason kiper left him off and i just heard him talk and beat texas and that seemed pretty good. i will be doing more research.

draft an OL in the 1st. i so wish...

nevermind.

I realize this is off topic but the Cowboys blew their opportunity for the QB of the future when they passed on Drew Brees. I am sure the Saints are happy they did.

We need a real QB. Bill is right they don't grow on trees. You have to draft them early in the draft. If that means giving up a couple of 1st Rd picks to move up then you do it.

I say play Rome the rest of the year and see how it goes. If its obvious he isn't a future good starter then we should be around .500 or under. We trade whatever it takes to move up and draft Brady Quinn.

It could actually work out for us because some of the bad teams this year like Cleve, TX, AZ have their QBs for the future.

I agree.. Go draft Brady "the Truth" Quinn.... Then maybe or second round pick will get some more looks

I doubt we get anywhere near Quinn...

We are in the Troy Smith/Drew Stanton sweepstakes if we go QB...

We actually will probably be looking more at a Joe Thomas or Levi Brown...

Those are fine choices and anybody QB in the draft can be a bust, not matter the projection and where they are picked.

Also, I wouldn't mind taking a strong look at Brian Brohm, if he decides to come out.

go look at any draft board and see where he is rated and what they say. Then look somewhere after the 3rd rd and try and find Smith. Its like people are blind or something. Dont you follow college football at all? Quinn is the 1st QB on every list. :bang2:

LOL. I wonder if I could smack Jerry now.

OMG, after one game of Romo, you've had your fill?? Man the pre-season had you guys on fire that Romo is the answer, and the future. Now it's Brady Quinn? Fix that O-Line and stop abandoning the run game when it's proven that you have a beast back there in Jones. That'll make Romo, or whover's job a lot easier.

If Romo is good we will not be in a position to draft Quinn, and we will not need to draft Quinn.

If Romo is not good we will probably be in a much better position to draft Quinn, if this is the case, I would give up the kitchen sink to get him.

I personally think (and hope) Romo will be good, but whatever happens this is a good thing for the franchise.

Like I said in another thread, this is all assuming Parcells sticks with Romo, if not, forget everything I said.

Big Joe from Wisconsin is a TOP 5 pick.. I bet the Dolphin get him.. The need him thats for d@#* sure.. And as much as I like Levi he will be a top 15 pick. Then again its Romo time we might have a top 15 pick.

The only thing I liked about Romo is that he wasnt afraid to get the ball into his playmakers. Witten all of a sudden was getting looks (although sometimes thrown into double coverage) and we was looking at both T.O and Terry. I dont Romo is no dummy. He knows where T.O is and knows what he can bring to his play and moving the ball... But its those errant throws into coverage or forced passes that will make us a 9-7 team. I like the guys fire and improv but he is more agile Farve without the gun and playing like post Superbowl Favre. Which is I can make any throw, to anyone at anytime. Brett just throws the ball and hopes someone can make a play. He seems to be doing that more often late in his career. Just hopefully Romo doesnt lead the league in picks and throws into triple coverage like Favre..

actually with the quality of our WR throwing it at them and expecting them to make a play is not a bad idea.
