He would be a project in the NFL and even then probably only wind up being a backup.
If we took Troy Smith with a first round pick I would get on a plane and smack Jerry Jones.
We need to draft O-Line...if this season has not shown people that I don't know what will.
You could get Smith in the 2nd or 3rd round. What's not to like? There are far more qb's drafted in the first round that turned out to be busts than ones in the second or third. Montana was a third or fourth rounder, Brady, a sixth rounder. How can you make that statement about Smith after the year he's had. After this year, he will have had two solid years at a major university, leading his team to bowl games. If you're dreaming of Brady Quinn, forget about it, there's half a dozen teams with a better shot of getting him than us,besides, Quinn was outplayed by Troy Smith in a bowl game last year and outplayed by Chad Henne this year. The guy's talent just doesn't translate to dominance anyway. Name one good team that Notre Dame has dominated because of Brady Quinn's performance. Turn it around, and I can say that Ohio State dominated Notre Dame because of Troy Smith's play.
